UDFA Ryan Pope, OL, signed by Lions, released, signed as 10th PS player . Pope played at SD State prior to UDFA by Lions.
Finally, another OL which may satisfy maybe half the WZ. Let's see what our OL coach can do with him. Way to go JL.

22 yrs old he signed the largest UDFA contract of any UDFA in 2019. $145K plus a $20K signing bonus. Pope is 315 lbs and 6'7". He initially was good at pass pro but SD State did a lot of running , so he became a much better run blocker while there where he started his senior yr

i would think it would bother you. the team made no moves and put all their eggs into the basket of our guys and hoping and praying the center is healthy. seems to me, pope and reynolds should be on the varsity. just joking,., well maybe not. also the theory that jimmys quick release will make it all better may not help when he is laying in a steve young heap cuz one of our guys blew a block. oh. sorry. what is the new norm.. it will be ok cuz all offensive lineman miss blocks. it happens,. meh
How long before he's elevated to the active roster
Nice pickup. Hopefully he can be developed properly in Shanahan's scheme

Only $125k and a $20k bonus and thats the largest contract in 2019 for a rookie undrafted free agent? Thats chump change.

Maybe even sooner if he develops quickly.

I hope this Pope prevents penetration into the backfield.

Lucky for us the only penetration Pope allows is when minors are involved.
