Windows, rebuilds, all the cliches.

Teams can get better or worse quickly in the NFL. You can't keep plugging away with an aging, expensive, and banged up roster.

Seriously wtf??!!

I wonder if Fred made calls to try and get him to stay

Fred is probably the one that told him to take the deal.

Fans keep forgetting this is a business.

Mostly, yes. Not completely, if that were true BA would've been a Patriot. 😆
Best of luck to Greenlaw in Denver

Agree. Look at the Eagles. Not that they were terrible but I look at them at a team that the 49ers waxed and got blown out by TB in the playoffs, now they are the best team in the NFL.
I already felt the Niners should try and get a LB in the first 3 rounds. Now that Greenlaw is officially leaving they may need to prioritze it. I say this because it's an important position in the wide 9 defense. More so than some other styles of D. Part of the run defense issue last season was not having Greenlaw. His replacements just weren't up to the task that the Niners defense requires.
Dam. Salute to Greenlaw...dude is a dog and a tonesetter. Sad to see him go
Lets hope KJ Wright found a gem replacement.

I could not be happier for him. I want to remind all of you of something. Go back to the beginning of this thread. How many doubters do you see? How many folks never paid up on their debts? How many still doubted him after he stoped the Seahawks on easily one of the most memorable plays in recent 49er history? How many still doubt him?

Dre was a ward of the state. My home state. One of the poorest and uneducated states in the union. A state where racism is still present. He worked his ass off, got to Fayetteville, and helped a rough Hog team in the SEC. Dre came here, and brought us to the cusp of a title, only to blow out his damn Achilles on a freak accident. Him and Bo, man. There is a terrible link there. Anyway...as of late, those injuries have hurt me as a fan the most. I have worried all along that Dre's best days are behind him. An Achilles injury for a linebacker can be damning. I was so happy to see him comeback and wreck folks, but then, he was out again.

And that is when I knew...that it was over. I have had a feeling all along that he was gone. It just feels like an end of an era. But as a Razorback, I am very proud that he was on this iteration of the Niners. I will miss him. I am so proud of him and I don't even know him, but I feel like I know his story. I am always proud of Hogs that escape. Still, I am happy as hell Dre got his bag. He f**king deserved it.

Thank you for the memories and proving that Hogs have a place in this world.

Go Hogs, Go!

Bowman had same injury and was never the same. I think Dre is different though.
Listen as much as I miss Dre the dude may never be the same. Every year injuries devastate this team. We complain when they sign guys who are old and injured. So now that they don't you all are jumping off a cliff lol.

Yep. At this point, I am honestly wondering why they even spent the money to get Robert Saleh back?

The thing is you get to keep him longer when the D isn't good due to talent deficiencies.

Ah good point - and he has to be here at least two seasons before they can get a comp pick for him!

No you can't. But that aging, expensive roster was young and healthy. And you need to cash in on your opportunities. We failed to do it….twice. And maybe even thrice if you count the loss vs LA when we had a 10 pt lead in the 4th. Utter failure of an era. Good core of players leaving without having anything to show for it. Gross
we gave some rando Tight End 20 mil, but we couldnt give Dre 35 mil?
