Bad luck does not equal injury prone. In a case like Jimmie Ward, they like to write his stuff off as bad luck, but when you break things four out of five years, that shows you simply are fragile and more likely to suffer those types of injuries upon force.

Bosa on the other hand, to be very fair has issue coming from both sides. The ankle was a true bad luck item, the fact that it was only a high ankle sprain instead of a broken leg actually points to him likely being tougher than most. On the flip side, the hammy and the core muscle do put him in that category of "concern" for those types of issues I think.

Bottom line, I think he's somewhere in the middle. A quality player who there is some concern about injuries, but not quite near the level of being truly categorized as "injury prone" just yet.

I agree. We need more data. I just don't know how anybody can say with certainty that he is NOT injury prone.

This is the main issue I have with being "injury-prone". It's a blanket statement that means very little.

Example 1: Jason Verrett is injury prone and Frank Gore is injury prone

Example 2: Raheem Mostert is good and Saquon Barkley is good

Let's talk about the facts and stop making things more simplified than they need to be.
The no such thing as injury prone warriors have woke up.

Ok.

2018: Misses almost the whole season due to injury
2019: Misses most of mini camp due to injury
2019: Misses all preseason games due to injury (regular season TBD)

Those are facts. Maybe too soon to say he is "injury prone" but he sure does have some concerning "bad luck".

The injury prone label of a torn ACL in HS, abdominal/groin in college and then coupled with his family history of injuries (brother, father, uncle and I believe another grandfather)). I wanted Bosa and think he will be awesome, but these were things that were in the back of my mind. So far in OTA/TC he has a hamstring injury that kept him out and now a ankle injury that will keep him out at least until the opener. I don't know if he's injury prone or not, but my interpretation of someone injury prone is one that cannot stay on the field consistently, regardless of what the injury is or how it happened. We shall see where he falls.

Agree with you. And I have no agenda. I liked the Bosa pick and I think he will be good when he plays. But it is VERY fair to question how much he will play. Not sure why people want to lump everybody into QW supporters or "haters" or whatever throwaway term is in vogue at the moment.

You can like Bosa AND be very concerned about his injures. Doesn't make you a hater.

Yea this is very frustrating.
I won't make a big deal out of the ankle injury by itself but overall it is concerning that he has already gotten hurt twice since they drafted him. I hope he's back by week 1 but I wonder how much he will be able to do in the interim while the ankle heals up. Gotta assume his conditioning and body wont be quite 100% even if he does come back week 1 which guess what .....can lead to more injuries. I think they will be EXTREMELY cautious with Bosa coming back. Dee Ford and Buckner gotta carry the pass rush the first few weeks of the season is my guess.

Forget week 1, high ankle sprains are at least 6 weeks.

We can say what we want and how it happened, but Between the hamstring and now the ankle he's not doing much to shed the injury prone label.

But someone fell on his ankle when engaged, how do you avoid that?

The end result is that he is injured and out, correct? Doesn't matter how it happened imo

But it does actually. I mean if a player gets shot by a terrorist every week in the arms and legs does that make him injury prone?

Oh you

Pretty big generalization eh?
Weird how Staley and co. call Bosa," Quadzilla"(because of how muscular his legs are ),yet his legs are always battered with injuries.

Is he going too hard in the weightroom coupled with going too hard on the drills and training camp?

If anything, his leg strength helped prevent it from being a worse injury. Getting rolled up has zero to do with being injury prone.

Setting over/under on Bosa games played this season at 11.5

What you got?

Tough one. Let's say it's a grade 2 to be safe and to avoid reaggravation, shut him down the first 3 games + extra bye-week. Can still play 13 games. Over.
