No way you can count on this. Triple ACL. 1 High School and 2 NFL. Will be 29 next October. A player approaching 30 and 3 times severe knee injuries. We need this yet again too. DE/Edge pass rusher is now a big draft requirement. In addition to OT to replace Trent and C, LG. Still have to pick the lines again. This is a real mess. Not only for this year. But ongoing for the future. You simply can't rely on this. A big contract of guaranteed money too. Great when healthy. But often not healthy. Much like his brother. They have trouble staying on the field. The best ability is availability.

Yeah kind of feels like he might be damaged goods at this point with this latest injury. Will still be productive, but no where near what we will be paying him and hoping he will be.

We might be able to get someone to take on his contract, but highly doubtful. Might just have to bite the bullet and hope he comes back productive enough for the next couple of years.

They just have to keep him the next few years. Very likely. But don't count on him to be the same as he was. Or to be healthy with longevity. With his injury history he could miss a lot of time. We need to draft the next guy now. For pass rusher. DE/OT are at the top of the draft list. We could use either side. Since this team favors defense and defensive line and almost always ignores offensive line you would expect it to be DE.

No question Bosa will be missed but if they can't make the playoffs without him then they weren't good enough anyway. Edge rushers rarely make the difference between making the playoffs or not.

Crazy take. Did you watch the 2007 and 2011 NY Giants?

Pass rush and what Bosa commands on this line in terms of double teams and focus in opposing gameplanning is monumental.

Hell, Bosa was the difference in the first two games this season. Single handedly sealed the first game.

The Niners can get by without him but let's not act like his loss is fairly inconsequential or won't have ramifications.

I knew this would get a reaction. My point is that teams don't win titles because of one great edge player. It's the QB or the overall offense. The game plan. Maybe the entire defense. It's not one edge player. Lot's of teams with great edge rushers don't even make the playoffs. I can't really remember a game where an edge rusher made the deciding play in the SB. None has ever won the MVP.

They're a great tool to have but not an absolute must.

2015 Denver Broncos say hi. I get that it's not super frequent but it does happen. They don't win it all without Miller. Probably don't even get to the Super Bowl without Miller.

Maybe but you can't say that for sure. How many games did he win? You can't really say he won any.

He won the 2015 AFC Championship AND Super Bowl arguably all by himself…

The other 21 guys had no part in it. Right.
Apparently the D goes to hell without him
the TOs haven't helped, but this is just awful

The DL looked promising but now horrid with him out. Little to no pass rush and getting ran on especially outside this game. What scares me the most is our run blocking

I take it back, the offense is killing them lol
It's going to be a very long and tough year without pass rush. This is going to get ugly.

Not one hit on the QB today without him

On the bright side, maybe some people will learn that sack numbers aren't everything.

Jk, lol. No chance.

f**k the picks make a damn trade!!!! Holding onto picks isn't gonna make this team win. And every time the 49ers have made a trade we have gone deep into the playoffs, twice to the Super Bowl.

49ers trade for Emmanuel Sanders - they go to the Super Bowl.

49ers trade for CMC - they get to the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP.

49ers trade for Chase Young - they got to the Super Bowl.

MAKE A f**kIN TRADE!!!!

This. If we don't you can write the season off. Just crazy no pressure on Lawrence all day & let him play pitch & catch all day. Way too many guys out of position all day long

I don't get it either.

Almost glad we lost (not really because I hate the team losing), because at least now they get a much heavier reality check.

Wow. Wasn't much pressure at all today - was a little more in the 2nd Half - but to not have one hit on the QB?

Yup. Bosa is double and or chipped almost every down. Teams don't have to worry about that anymore. They should draft two de every year to increase the odds of hitting a home run. Same for o -line but now I'm dreaming.

Sack numbers of course aren't everything but what about at least hitting the QB.
