Giving up 2 draft picks for Trey Hendrickson is not going all in. It's the right and smart move.

Then, next year, depending on how well Hendrickson plays for us this year, the 49ers can decide if they want to keep Hendrickson or Bosa.

Bosa's contract is not realistically trade-able until after the 2027 season.

As someone who would go "WOAH! Let's go!" at a Hendrickson trade, it would absolutely be an all-in move. I don't even see a scenario where we could realistically tag him for $36M.

The season will continue and we might still be able to make noise, but the odds of us winning four playoff games in a row without our 2nd most important player is VERY slim.

It's why I considered the 2020 season over the moment he got carted off. The only way we win the Super Bowl this season is if we trade for someone like Trey Hendrickson. Huff (who got rejected by his previous team) and a bunch of college kids just aren't going to win a Super Bowl, it's just not realistically possible. Would be a bigger miracle than the Eagles winning three playoff games in a row with Nick Foles.

9ers First Super Bowl had 3 College Kids in the Backfield or don`t you remember ? Lott, Wright, & Williamson

I was born after our last Super Bowl win let alone our first one so no not really lol. All I know is pain, hearing about how awesome it was before I was born, and worst of all, "ALMOST!"

Yeah but those were real men, not these pansies of today that are only interested in posting on the Gram and wearing diamond gold chains on the field.

TK is out of his damn mind if he think Henderson is gonna cost that much lol and no s**t SF likes those guys lol

Re-signing condition is an interesting one… but I agree a 1st is way too much for a rental. We better win the damn Super Bowl if we give up that much for him. A 1st and all we do is one-and-done with him before he walks would be disastrous.

Exactly! Don't you love how people can't make an argument in the context of the situation. We don't have so many great and elite players playing right now… our team is going to be way better than it is right now

That would help.

You can't be giving up a 1st or 2nd rd round for a guy that's 30 and looking for one more massive deal.

I actually think a 2nd would be about right. Rams traded a 2nd and 3rd for Von Miller. Nobody gives them flack for it.
Trevis Gipson will probably be elevated from the practice squad legit NFL experience and identical size to Bosa. No way I am implying that he is Bosa. But he has experience and size.
What I would personally like to see them do is experiment with the plethora of young linebackers that they have. Huff is 6-3 @255, Micah Parsons is 6-3 @255, Jalen Walker 6-1 @243. Now of course this would be reserved for obvious passing downs. They have several lbs the same size or very close and they are a strength of this roster. Let's see them think outside the box.
Gifford 6-3 @245
Robinson 6-3 @245
Grahm 6-3 @220
Bethune 6-1 @250
Martin 5-11 @221
Ahmad Brooks is another linebacker turned edge that worked out pretty well for them.

Because we were still all in on Bosa. But I now think it's time to move on from him. He's been missing too many pivotal games in the last couple seasons due to injuries

No. He hasn't.

From 2021-2024 he missed 4 games out of 77, including playing in all 9 playoff games. The only game he missed in the 3 playoff seasons of 2021-2023 was Week 6 in 2022 in Atlanta, hardly a "pivotal" game.

His snap counts for the last four seasons are:

976 (20 games)
899 (19 games)
1022 (20 games)
693 (14 games)

Yeah this team is not in position to trade a first or second round pick for a guy looking for a huge deal. Never going to happen. We're not a team who can throw away top tier draft capital anymore.

I'm begging for someone to surprise us and make a big impact while Nick is out. Seeing Al-Quadin Muhammad step up in a big way for the Lions when the guy was picked up off the street late last year and not even playing in 2023 gives me hope but need someone to step up big.
It would be amazing if we can replace Bosa with someone internal at no price. Bosa's job was to rush the passer so you are looking for someone who can pressure the QB.
