I'm just glad we picked Bosa because it gives us someone to watch every week on defense. Even if the team doesn't do well we have a young guy who could become a force that we can follow. If you think that isn't important, try following the Giants these days. No young talent to watch, no power, just dull games.

But at least that team gave up the farm (or what little they had to give) to get 3 titles in 5 years. I'll be happy despite them sucking in Bochy's farewell season.
His arms were looking a little flabby in one of the pictures. I was a bit nervous until I saw the others and remembered that it's his gargantuan quads that make him effective.

We really need to go back to the beige/tan pants. Any kind of artificial light makes our gold pants look like baby poop yellow.

Do it Fred Dean style.

I think he was just saying play calling is adaptive, opposed to something that can be quantified linearly with numbers. For example, if the opposing offense is in 3rd and short all the time like last year, dictatating to us what play we will call, it won't matter what defense we are in.

A great thing about Harbaughs teams is that they were really strong against the run, routinely forcing teams into 2nd and 3rd and long. It'd be be smart to get back into basic fundamentals like that, good tackling, stopping the run so we can set Ford and Bosa free on passing downs.

That has nothing to do with why I brought up those numbers though. SF was actually good in run D last yr.

Regardless of anything if a team is showing 11 personnel, you gotta throw another DB on field and more teams are running that now (and have been the past couple yrs). The rams played out of it 90% of the time last yr. so teams need build their team accordingly.

Statistically we might have been good against the run, but in context, in critical situations, I wouldn't say we are what should be considered a good, run stopping team. Average maybe. Regardless though, he was saying it's more complex like a game of chess. Moves, counter moves, adjustments , attacking weaknesses, etc, not just an oversimplification like we play base 25% and nickel 70% no s**t you say.

Earl Mitchell had a lot to do with this. I think Jones will be a huge surprise next year for us. I can't believe how many people missed what was right in front of our eyes. Mitchell was soooo bad he hardly made any plays whatsoever.

You might think so what he's a NT but a decent to good NT really affects the run game. I'm a little biased because I played NT but it's really a shame we got nothing from that position.

And oh yeah... our linebackers were very average as well. Alexander, if he can stay healthy, will be huge for us.

Well, if I wasn't a Bosa fan before I might be now
