The problem is the amount of time it has taken. Okay, nothing wrong with going for the prize but it has been known for a very long time what someone like ADs contract is. If the goal was we will only sign if ADs contract surpassed that was known when they could start discussing this past spring. It is no longer beating AD it is by how much. It sure seems to me, a big nobody, is not only does he want to beat it, he wants to eclipse it by a huge margin. His argument will probably be AD is winding down. When all is said and done I will be the greatest defensive player to have ever played (hey he believes it. Good for him)
How much above that AD line to sign? I think folks have to stop saying a million or two here. Come on it would be done. He wants AD number blown out of the water.
This is the ONLY reason that is explainable why he has not signed. Not $1m or $2m. That is nuts.
The club can't sit in a room by itself and come out with an agreed upon deal. Both parties have to agree. The Bosa camp isn't agreeing to jack months ago. They want SF to feel the heat of going into week 1 without their star. That saved Nick a lot of mandatory camp, also when SF feels the heat, they may really up their offer. That's what is going on here. Only way to get it done months ago is offer $50m per year or something stupid, and fans wouldn't have wanted that. That's my theory, the agent wants SF to feel the heat they are feeling now. A deal months ago wasn't in the cards, without a comical overpay. Now is the time both sides are highly incentivized to come to agreement.
I guess my point was the ballpark number was known. I believe the 9ers surpassed it fairly early. You know they love Nick and don't dick around too much with screwing our players. That is not this regime. The problem sure seems the Nick camp is tossing unreasonable numbers. Well above and beyond that known AD number.
