Nick Bosa is a great player on a great TEAM.

Can the 49ers win without him? Yes, they can.

I don't think Bosa is asking for such an unreasonable amount, almost every report has been similar to the next in that he wants to be the highest paid defender. The hangup is likely in some of the small details or language, but I can't see how I could be important enough to possibly cost a game. Get the deal done now, then take a year or even 2 to figure out how to make it work better for the team.

I'm guessing it hinges directly on the guaranteed money more than anything else.

?????

From what?! They were in the NFCC AGAIN with their 3rd string QB.

Well, if they're willing to flush 1st round draft picks down the toilet on an unknown, but so tight when it comes to paying proven players that it could cost the team, it makes them look silly.

Why are you assuming the FO is cheap? They've paid massive deal literally every off-season. What if Bosa is asking for $40m??

They have a team to run.

Come on, nobody realistically thinks he's asking $40M.

Nines fans can spin it how they want but Bosa missing any time even week 1 is a MEGA fail by this organization.

So the Chiets, who everyone thinks are the standard, are also a mega fail?

you clearly have zero experience in negotiating contracts. I do it for a living.

good luck trying to be the hero that gets all done on your timeline.

I don't care about your experience. Not having your most important player on the field in a sport if a fail. Keep thinking it's positive though.
No one is forcing you to be a fan of this team

What happens if Patrick Mahomes gets injured and misses a good part of the season?

Same answer.

The Niners don't win a SB this year with no Bosa. As of right now, there is no better option for the team chemistry and chances at a SB (which also probably goes through #1 seed) to have Nick Bosa playing for them this year. This is clear to me. An equal player trade is out of question this late in the preseason.

So, give me an all pro player now to win now.

Would the FO be redeemed if they paid Bosa such a staggering amount that in the future they cannot sign some of their vital pieces? If they didn't win the Super Bowl (at least once) before those stars left, that redemption would be pretty short lived.

This is the case whether they sign Bosa or not. This roster is top heavy and unsustainable. We have this year and maybe next before Purdy gets paid to pull it off.

Yea, exactly. They should be doing everything they can to maximize these next two seasons. It's not good that we're starting this one without the best player on the team.

There have been zero reports. Every "report" was somebody just guessing. Nobody has quotes from either side. We have zero idea what Bosa is demanding.

I do too. There was speculation early on that he may ask for the 1st fully guaranteed contract for a defensive player. I don't think that's the case so much, but do think he wants a ton guaranteed.

The point is you have no idea - but are comfortable putting the blame on the FO without any actual context.

Who is more vital on this team than the best DE in the league. It's the 2nd most important position. QB is the only position that trumps DE and Purdy is cheap for the next 3 years.

I don't disagree. I would only disagree with the degree. I am all for making Bosa the highest paid defensive player. But, again, there are degrees.

Yep.
Where's Hammer when you need him?

We got to pray (pray), pray (pray). We got to pray for Hammer to make the deal today.

And please Hammer, don't hurt 'em.

The context is they've known for over a year they needed to do this, have l own since the end of last season about what it would cost, still let it drag on so long that regular season games are in jeopardy. I obviously have a lot better idea than you if you think he's asking $40M. Now I'm not here to argue, so try convincing somebody else is asking for that.
