Since when? He has a total of 6 TDs in the past 3 seasons.

I think 16 of his 22 TD's were in the redzone over the course of his career. I'm pretty sure that's what elguapo means.

Saw that too.

That doesnt mean he is a "redzone monster" because he averages 3.2 redzone touchdowns a season. LOL

Dude is just awful. THL's breakdown of Jimmy's night confirmed that his terrible route running and sloppiness was the reason for the near pick 6.

Matthews needs to be cut. He provides the least upside out of any of our guys.

I mean you're complaining about one route in a Preseason game when Shanahan watches him every day in practice. I think since last week Thursday, Matthews has been targeted second most by Jimmy G.. Again, I don't get the hate for the guy on here its not like he dropped two easy passes against second or third stringers. If healthy he can't be any worse than what Garcon has shown since his time in SF.

No I am not. Feel free to look back in this thread. My dislike for Matthews and preference for basically any of the other WRs is well documented. He simply isnt very good.

I'm referencing your post above. In all honesty we don't know what he looks like in Shanahan's offense, can't truly make a decision basing it off the 7 snaps of two preseason games. Shanahan has stated he had a helluva camp not a helluva two preseason games.

Code for : he isn't going to make the team

He just turned 27 years old. He has had a few injuries that have slowed him down but that doesn't mean he can't get healthy and play at a high level again. I don't understand this logic at all. He didn't forget how to play football and he is in his physical prime.

He never really played at a high level imo. He played in a offense that inflated stats due to the amount of snaps they had.

His routes haven't looked amazing at all throughout camp and in preseason. His physical prime has him fighting for the bottom of a WR roster full of rookies and relatively unknowns.

If he was such a stud we wouldn't even been discussing if he was making the team or not and we would be hearing about this amazing camp...instead we're debating if he can beat out a UDFA and a 7th rd pick.

I mean he must have helped you in fantasy or something a couple yrs ago and you're attached to that or something...Dude hasn't done much of anything for a couple yrs

You mean that Chip Kelly offense we had here? That's the offense you are trying to claim inflated Jordan's stats? You mean the guy that isn't even in the NFL anymore?

yeah that offense, when you're running more plays then anyone in the NFL stats get inflated...how's that hard to understand?

When he was in Philly it was a top end offense...you must have not been paying attention. oops.

That same offense got s**tty Jeremy Kerley like 700 yards with Blaine Gabbert throwing him the ball

If Jordan Matthews was as good as you say....we wouldn't be having a debate if he can beat out a UDFA and 7th RD pick. He would be top of the roster and killing it this off season. So far he's barely noticeable and if he does make the team it's at bottom of the roster (probably not even active). Hurd will be the big slot.

But hey I'm sure he got you fantasy pt 4 yrs ago

I hope Matthews makes the cut - we need some veteran presence along with the youngsters.

That's the one. Same one that gave a blah QB an insane TD/INT ratio.

I would be shocked at this point if he makes it.

I wished we had an accomplished vet.

Since he wasn't on buffalo? You can't be seriously knocking him for where wrs go to die. Last year on philly he was barely used. A mistake on their part

Thank you
I'd hate to see us keep a clearly inferior player just because he's a vet....

You know who else are vets? Wes Welker and Miles Austin

And yes Goodwin has more experience than Matthews so keeping Jordan around due to his veteran presence to me would be criminal.

Keep the best talent for the buck. End of story.
