JV has turned in exactly one good season, and you want to break open the bank for this guy. What about the four other seasons where he couldn't stay on the field? Or played so horribly that the Chargers CUT THE GUY.
And you want to pay him big 💰 💰 💰? Back up the Brinks 🛻?
I'll take a pass on this one. If JV wants a big payday, let him earn one with three solid, dependable seasons. Not one.
Lol what? This is almost as bad as your take on Trent Williams. JV was never cut by the Chargers. He never played bad (other than with us Vs the Steelers) he was just injured. No one has said to break the bank. When Verrett is healthy he is a top 10 CB in the league and that is why people want him back but no one is saying it's not a gamble and absolutely no one is saying to pay him a huge contract.
billbird hates good players lol.

I don't think they will break open the bank I would think it will be incentive laden like he has to play 10 games or 12 games or be healthy for 80% of the season or something like that

Good CBS are so hard to find. I'd have no hesitation to sign JV to a market rate contract today. Him playing well on a team with Bosa providing pressure would produce good results.

I am down for Verrett coming back, but he has to have his contract structured where he's only making good money, if he is on the field playing. We can't be doing this Dee Ford+Weston Richburg crap anymore, where we PAY oft injured players long term contracts, only to have them NOT PLAY for us, while still collecting Top dollars.

Why would he agree to this? He can't control if he gets hurt. I think it's fair to take a lesser overall deal with decent guarantees

Yes. And they don't have a laundry list of injuries.

He won't be paid anywhere not even the Jets because of his age and injury history. Give him another incentive driven two years deal in SF. If he playes he gets paid. If he doesn't, that money gets rolled over to 2022.
There will be other CB in the market and this is a good draft class of CB. So nobody will overpay for Verrett because he had one healthy season.

He is in for a shock. Age, injury history and a declining cap.
