He's a very intriguing prospect...has great footwork and is a good route-runner. Is a YAC machine with some good hands. He dealt with poor QB play and some injuries.

I think it's fair to say since Shanahan/Lynch took over the 49ers have become a pretty desirable destination. Richard Sherman/Trent Williams, two HOFers, are good examples. Even Jimmy Garoppolo didn't force his way out. This situation with Samuel is an outlier.

Dude is doing us a favor really. His trade value will never be higher, it's before the draft and my guess is that he topped out his potential last season. Let's take the haul and move on. I hope it works out for you in Detroit next year Deebo.

Also reports are that we offered top shelf WR money. What that is exactly who knows, but it doesnt sound like we lowballed.
