That's more than Godwin/DJ Moore and 3rd only behind Hill/Nuk in FGTD cash (which is what matters). He get's a shot to cash in again in a couple yrs (or another extension like Diggs got) get's a ton of GTD cash and SF get's 4 total yrs to spread out that cash.

If his agent and him want everyone to think he's the highest paid WR in football APY...just toss in a void 4 year (with a stupid high cap hit) like Hill got, it's for show and nothing more.

If it was up to Deebo and his agent, he would get Adams / Hill money.

But for 1 year of great production I hope it doesn't happen.

What is Adams/Hill money?

End of the day Adams actually got 3 yrs $67.5Mish and only $22.75FGTD. He will never see the last two years of his contract.

Hill got basically 4yrs $95Mish (and can get out of it in yr 4 to save more). His FGTD $ is made up of his salary in 2022/2023, $10M roster bonus in 2023 and got around $25M in a signing bonus (which is prorated).

Like I said 3yrs $62M with $42M FGTD is pretty freaking good for Deebo IMO.
I am in the camp of waiting. Make him do it again next season if he wants top WR money. Franchise him after the season if necessary and try to work out a contract then. If you cant work out a deal after the franchise then trade him and focus on extending Ayiuk instead. It really isn't this dire situation everyone is trying to make it out to be.

he's only really had one good season

Let him get overpaid but let someone else do it

Just my opinion

Chiefs and Packers have two of the highest paid QBs in the league. SF has a QB on a rookie contract...there's a big difference

Deebo is also better than DK, so it's reasonable to think if the Jets offered #10 for him, they might up the offer for Deebo since clearly it wasn't enough to get DK.

He's not gonna be the highest paid no QB. No team is gonna trade high end picks and make him that.

It's debatable if Deebo is better than DK. They're not the same player. Also it was reported that the Jet never offered the 10th overall pick.

It's April and Deebo will get paid the same time others in SF have gotten paid.

I'm not...I like having that last yr of his rookie deal as part of the extension. You can prorate his signing bonus into that spreading cash out while keeping his cap hit lower. Only way Deebo doesn't "do it again" is if he's hurt. He's a baller. Price is only gonna go up for everyone. Revenue share goes up contracts go up.

What? That is not splash numbers and deebo is worth a lot more. I dont get your ladt sentence THEN DO 4TH YEAR MIINI-PARAAG .

SPLAAAAAASSSH

It's a 3 yr extension with damn near the same amount of fully GTD cash that Nuk is getting. Only Hill is getting more. What don't you get about fully gtd cash and that being the most important number when looking at a contract? s**t Adams only has $22.7M FGTD at the signing.

Dude go look at Hill's last yr of his deal....his cap hit is $50M BUT it voids as soon as the new year starts. That $50M is applied to "the total contract" but it's not real. Same s**t with Adams and the last two yrs of his contract which are $40M each yr. There is NO GTD cash there none. It's fake money to fluff up to the media that he got that much.

Like I said if Deebo wants to pretend his APY is a certain amount, add a void yr like Hill's to inflate his APY.

85 is spot on with this deal. Deebo is a fantastic player I'd hate to lose. However, he has injury issues, came in over weight one off-season, and has put together one super star season with a few other very good season going into his first contract extension. Hill, devante, and Diggs are all 3rd contract guys who have proven for years and years this is who they are. He is not worth what those guys are. He should be in line if not slightly cheaper than DK and AJ. Those guys are in the same draft class and both have more games played, more catches, and more TD. Deebo is worth 42-50 mill guaranteed however you want to make that look on paper. Again, he's one of my favorite players in the league and he lead my dynasty team to the ship so I don't want him gone at all, but I am a club of the team so I absolutely think they should negotiate as hard as they can with these players. He will get paid in the end!

Great post man.

Thanks, yeah I mean I guess I could have said give him a 5yr deal for $120M and in small print say *Y5 is a voidable year in which the cap hit is $58M* or say here's a 5yr deal for $140M and in small print say *Y4/Y5 have no GTD cash and that's when we will make your cap hit $40M (each yr)*

You may be right but if having to pay more for the reassurance that he can stay consistently healthy and that he really is a true #1 WR is worth it IMO. There have been many of times people have thought a WR was an absolute beast and pay huge contracts only to get mediocre production in the years to follow.I don't think that is Deebo but why not watch another year of him on the field when the current situation allows for it. Why pay a guy top WR money who only has one big season in the NFL when you don't need to this offseason.

Jimmy effects Deebo situation none.

fine, then there is no reason to not get together. work it out. and nip all of the forthcoming drama this will create and is creating in the bud.. nip it lynch

I am sure they are. Its April. Long offseason left. People panicking already is hilarious.

concerned. and it will only get worse. understandably... so much drama that is not needed with jimmy and now deebo.

The only drama is fans over reacting to the media.

Not really, deebo wants this.

Of course he wants paid. But a negotiating tactic in April is not a reason to panic.
Hey if they want to fight in public you and I will analyze the hell out of it lol

When he starts talking about being unhappy or holds out games I will panic. In April. Hell no. Sky isn't falling. Relax

Not worried, I jokingly said the worst case scenario is we would have to tag him. He isn't going anywhere for years regardless lol

I mean the deal I tossed out there isn't far off from Hill and Adams. It's more FGTD cash then Adams.

Like I said in another post you can fluff up that 3yrs $62M $42M FGTD to make it look MUCH bigger, but once you remove all the fake stuff that's basically what it would come out too.

s**t I would go all the way to 3yrs $75M (plus add in his last yr of his rookie deal which is $4.8M) extension, which turns into a 4 yr $80M deal and over half of it is FGTD.

Ramsey thinks he's one of the best WRs in the league and he's just starting to get into his prime. Most often guys that sign massive deals and fall off are FA signings that go to a different team.

His deal isn't gonna be top money in a couple years...again it's all about the FGTD money not the total amount. NFL players have been underpaid for years and the revenue share is growing exponentially. They got a cheap starting QB, which will make everything work. Once you have to pay that QB and his cap hits are legit you have to make hard choices. SF doesn't have to make hard choices right now. You can pay Bosa/Deebo no problem.

Big difference between $65m gtd total and $22m fully gtd or gtd at signing. Media will print the $65m number all day even though it may very well never come to pass. Don't think I've seen the $22m number until you shared.

Yeah I mean guys like Gallup/Lockett/Arob/Cory Davis all got more. Adams signing bonus of $19.25M and his YR1 base salary are what makeup that FGTD cash currently.
If he's on the roster in 2023 his roster bonus ($20M) and base salary for 2023/2024 become gtd. So he's basically got a 3 yr $67M deal. The last two yrs are basically fake news.
