I won't be surprised if he plays good. This system is plug play for RBs. Once the OL is in place, they simply need to RBs with specific traits(patience, decisive, vision) to keep the machine humming.

Great description of Dayes. Not super explosive or anything but he's a stereotypical one-cut and go type of RB.

Matthew Dayes...unhh...doesn't he play second base for the Cubs? JK...nice descriptive summary by Hero. And he didn't cost us a pick like Joe W did.

4.66 was his pro day time... for comparison sakes Legarrette Blount ran a 4.7 at the combine.

uhh Blount is like a 250 pound bruiser. Dayes is about 5'9 210 pounds. He's slow and that's probably why he's a 7th round pick.
Dude getting mentioned in this thread as reminders to LT or the Tank...Can you imagine if he is a combo of those two

Kareem Hunt ran a 4.60 at his pro day.

At this level speed is not necessarily an issue for a RB in the right scheme like ours. Does not mean he will be an all pro, but he can still be effective.

True.

I don' t expect much but if Phoenix is correct in what Dayes best attributes are, he might be decent. It's nice to have Bobby Turner to help coach and ready these backs given his experience with the Shanahans and this system.

He may be small, but he is a slow small. It is these little wrinkles that Kyle can exploit.
