When you have a bunch of 3rd and 4th stringers in there, these issues get exacerbated. Bolden.just came off suspension. How many practice snaps do you think he's had? It sucks but when you have so many injury issues, that is who you wind up.
The WR corp is intact except for Goodwin who some on this board don't believe is a good player. The starting OL is intact as well. All else that is really missing is Jimmy G and McKinnon. I just don't see where Beathard is playing with a bunch of 3rd and 4th stringers

The backup QB is playing with backups. What was CJ supposed to be the answer to?

To be a backup. He looks like that guy. With a full team, he would look like a competent backup. If CJ were the kind of QB to elevate the play of his team given the situation, he'd be a starter somewhere.
Beathard is a backup QB. He was drafted to be a backup QB that can step in and hold on until the starter was ready to play again if/when that guy got hurt. Cannot blame CJ for his poor play in games because he shouldn't be looked at as anything special or a good starting QB. He's a backup and that's what we need obviously.
He's working with WRs that have not had much PT. Very little chemistry. Until the QB gets confidence in his receivers, he will be hesitant to throw it.
