Wrong. The ones that aren't panicking are the ones that thought the team would be near .500 for the season. The ones flipping out about why the team didn't win by enough points are the one with unrealistic expectations. 49ers fans don't deserve to be upset about a win that wasn't by enough points. What made you think the 49ers should be blowing out teams? My preseason prediction was 9-7. That means there's going to be struggle, scrappy wins, tight games where they lose. DET might not be a good team but it's like the 49ers are.

This. The people panicking are the ones who are incessantly negative 95% of the time anyways. Most people seemed to agree that this was a 7 to 9 win team this year. They look like what they are realistically, a young rebuilding team with some talent in need of seasoning and upgrades at certain areas, they'll be up and down as the younger players make mistakes, learn and hopefully progress as the season goes on.

Some posters put in work to point out all the shortcomings of the team. That's cool. But then don't get upset when the team doesn't play a complete game from 1Q to 4Q. Can't acknowledge the weaknesses of the team on a daily basis, then be surprised when the team doesn't win handily. That's flawed logic.

You focus too much on the boxscore. Lee made some tackles but he had a mostly terrible game. Missed several tackles that resulted in big plays for Detroit. The gap between Foster and Lee is enormous.

so alls well that ends well. it does not bother you it was a easy win which was made harder than it should have been due to the dc going soft. and poor tackling which is what saw last year. some of us point out the things that were weak last year . but we were told it would be better cuz of the cash we had and free agency and the draft. and then well. its just pre season. just disturbing to see the same things going wrong. got lucky cuz of a inferior foe yesterday. i say 8 wins,. but i do not have to like poor play or coaching as i see it
Who plays mike? I think I'd rather have warner at mike.

oh, lots of people like me are not in panic, just pointing out the flaws in our team. you can slap whatever label you want to on those types of people

Warner will be the mike. Foster will be set loose on the weakside.

Yeah my worry too. He plays one play, makes an outstanding tackle and knocks himself out for the rest of the game and is in concussion protocol for the next two weeks.
Even the negative people here had 7-8 wins, like myself. Who is panicking? Not me. There is nothing to panic about because playoffs were never an expectation for me.

Yes, I am upset, because this team still manages to let me down even with low expectations. You thought this receiving group would be a bright spot coming into this season. Now it turns out it really isn't all that good.

The national media that was talking trash about how bad our receiving corps was like Cris Carter and those talking heads? Well guess what, they were probably right. Now we are in desperation mode for a washed up receiver like Josh Gordon who is one ding away from being banned from the league.

You know about all the flaws on the roster and have been consistent in your concerns of the team. If tough wins that build experience aren't enjoyable to you then it's going to be a long season because this team isn't going to be dominating opponents this season. Your 8-8 prediction tells me you are seeing what you expected to see.
I just realized this is the KC thread so I'll stop. Maybe go to the DET thread for this.

You're trying to make a point criticizing one of our better defenders yesterday. Truth is our DB's didn't do their job outside of sherman and our DLine was shredded in avg which could have been worse if they didn't kick Blount out of the game and didn't provide any pressure on Stafford in the 2nd half.

This improves the passing defense.
IMO, my strategy for this game:

- a ball control rushing game on offense. Alternate Breida and Morris, and eat up a lot of clock so it keeps KC's offense on the sideline. Absolutely need to win Time of Possession and convert 3rd downs in order to win this game. I think Pierre Garçon is going to be key to extending drives and eating up clock. Run an occasional play action to take your shots down the field.

- a physical defensive strategy where you get a lot of hits on Mahomes so he is on his back all afternoon. Also need to jam Hill and disrupt his routes from the line of scrimmage. Blow him up any chance you get. Reuben Foster is going to help in that regard.

Can't let Sherman cover Hill. Would imagine he's best suited shadowing Watkins.

Double up on Hill.

Foster/Warner on Kelce/Hunt.

They'll murder us if we sit back in zone all game. They have the benefit of exceptional mismatches.

With Foster back we matchup with the Chiefs better than most teams, but they're likely the best offense in the league. There is zero room for error. This has the chance to be a bloodbath even if we play well. Need to 2-3 turnovers and another 200 yards on the ground to have a chance in this one.

But he wasn't. Maybe for the purposes of fantasy football but he missed far too many tackles that led to several big plays by the Lions. He looks like a solid 3rd string LB.
