Seeing of how the majority of starter ready guards went late 1st/early 2nd, not sure they need one. They went OL early in a big way to add a long term starter in McGlinchey. They signed Richburg and extended Tomlinson. By the time they moved up for Pettis, Hernandez, Corbett and some of the other top guards were all gone.


Injuries happen. Miami signed Josh Sitton to a $9 mil a year deal. He just tore his rotator cup. Now they have to turn to perennial turnstile Ted Larsen.

he climbed it by default. that is not a ringing endorsement. man you can not tell me. we could not have found someone even a titch better out on the open market. lynch and kyle will pay for thier stubborn ways and i hope its not a picture of jimmy laying out on the turf via steve young

Isn't the concern this week? Which player is good enough now to play this week? I'm sure several better than what we have but not sure a D+ effort is better than the D we will get this week.

Yes I realize he climbed it by default. Picking up a free agent would require him to learn the playbook in 5 days, not impossible if it's a vet, but maybe that restricts the playbook. The best part of starting Toran is that McG can go back to right tackle. Have Richburg give Toran some help if needed.

I figured you had some names since you're convinced that they screwed up badly by not taking a guard, in reality between the time McGlinchey and Pettis were picked, pretty much every guard ready to start as a rookie was taken. The 49ers will be seeing one this weekend in Frank Ragnow who went 21st in the draft. He got ragdolled last week. This week he gets Buckner.
