Don't be surprised if Ward ends up cut. Remember, $8M doesn't mean a whole lot when paring down to a 53 and the decision is between two players currently on the roster.

My thoughts are Ward plays for his job in the 4th game and ultimately gets cut.

I also see AA as a potential surprise cut if they believe they have DE/DT's that make more sense and can be available.

I think they keep AA. Taylor is a raw rookie and Blair is basically a backup. Ward on the other hand could be gone with him playing so poorly and these young guys playing better and better.

Thank you for the feedback

I had just done mine just prior to you posting this so if you don't mind, I'll add it here. But all your top points seemed to match mine as well.

This week's version:

QB: C.J. BeatHard vs. himself (growth) - proper pre/post-snap reads but still very slow and indecisive in his delivery
RB: Joe Williams vs. Raheem Mostert - I think it's becoming more and more likely we keep just McKinnon, Breida and Mostert
TE: Garrett Celek vs. Cole Hikutini vs. Ross Dwelley - safe to say Dirtytini and Dwelley looked good; with Kittle shelved, many more opportunity but the likelihood is it's going to be Kittle, Celek and Hikutini
XWR: Marquise Goodwin vs. Dante Pettis - *repeat* Hands a tad suspect last night but very good getting open and Goodwin was flawless
SWR: Trent Taylor vs. Richie James - *repeat* James is a lock and may need to be active on game days
ZWR: Pierre Garcon vs. Kendrick Bourne - Both are just consistent and reliable
LOT: Garry Gilliam vs. Darrell Williams Jr. vs. Andrew Lauderdale - Williams was very poor, Gilliam remains a headcase and Lauderdale looked sound in his technique
RG: Joshua Garnett vs. Mike Person vs. Jonathan Cooper vs. Erik Magnuson - Magnuson may end up on I.R. This more looks like a legit battle. Person was solid and consistent, Garnett played well and Cooper was solid and seems to be getting healthier by the day
RT: Mike McGlinchey vs himself - another stellar start; kid appears to be a gamer
LDE: Arik Armstead vs. Jullian Taylor vs. Ronald Blair - Blair got a lot of run today; up and down day and Taylor was a bit quiet but played well
NT: Earl Mitchell vs. D.J. Jones - Jones caused two fumbles today and looked far more active and stout compared to Mitchell
RDT: DeForest Buckner vs. Sheldon Day (for more playing time) - *repeat* We can not keep Day off the field. Period. At NT or 3T.
LEO: Solomon Thomas vs. Cassius Marsh (for more playing time) - Thomas was out but Marsh was absent on the field
SAM: Eli Harold vs. Jeremiah Attaochu vs. Pita Taumoepenu vs. Dekoda Watson - Attaochu only rushed from the strong side, Harold remained weak in coverage and good in run defense, obsolete in pass rush. Pita T. and Watson were solid/capable
MIKE/WILL: Malcolm Smith vs. Fred Warner vs. Korey Toomer vs. Elijah Lee - Warner played very well; fearless in the middle and Lee continued to build his case over Toomer
RCB: Jimmie Ward vs. Emmanuel Moseley vs. Tarvarus McFadden vs. Greg Mabin - Ward continued to get beat like a drum but McFadden and Moseley both made plays when given the chance. Mabin had a really nice game
SCB: K'Waun Williams vs. D.J. Reed - Reed continues to shine no matter where he plays and had a couple nice returns too
LCB: Richard Sherman vs. Tarvarious Moore vs. Tyvis Powell - Moore continues to get better every week and is making plays and playing fearlessly. Powell had a solid game as well
SS: Chanceller James vs. Marcell Harris - *repeat* James is a keeper
P: Bradley Pinion vs. Jeff Locke - *repeat* Pinion is a lock
KOR/PR: Dante Pettis vs. Jerick McKinnon vs. Trent Taylor vs. D.J. Reed vs. Richie James - Taylor seems to be only used inside the 10 on punts for his hands and both Pettis (punt) and Reed (KO) had nice returns adding to the strength on this unit; James got a ton of run too but nowhere to run this game
GR: Raheem Mostert vs. Tarvarious Moore vs. Chanceller James vs. Aaron Burbridge vs. Joe Williams - Mostert is a lock with 2 textbook tackles as a gunner and I saw Burbridge once; need to watch again to see if #43 or #45 were tried as gunners too this game

No question. Reed's ability to cover FS or the slot in a pinch and the play of Mabin, Powell, Moore and McFadden outside absolutely makes this chump expendable.

Reed is basically what Ward is supposed to be and paid to be for us. D.J Reed is a good football player. Ward is soft and regressing
