Poor guy. All that effort to come back may be for naught

Well if the 49ers win this game I would not play him in any of these games. I would just let him set and heal up.

Ever since him coming back became a thing they always said the Championship game at the earliest. So im not surprised if he doesn't play. I think our LBer play will be better this time around regardless so we'll see how it goes.

Did he encounter a setback? Or simply not ready yet?

"Warner was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice but did not take part on Thursday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that Warner did not suffer any setback, adding that the linebacker "looked good" during Wednesday's session."

Nothing was reaggravated. He is likely on a rehab routine that says not to practice 2 days in a row.
They are sticking to the plan which was NFCCG.
There's simply not enough time between now and Saturday for him to practice and ensure no swelling in the area.
If we win, he will be back next week.
