Thanks! My man adrian and NY85 gave me a couple tips for the update (I've added this to the Original Post at the end and will update as we go). I originally had Ali Marpet as a RG target in FA...a better, younger RG over Person but he was recently resigned and the CB I was targeting, just blew out his ACL. You know how I feel about the OL...wanted G Andrew Norwell and C Ryan Jensen this off season as well but was happy with C Weston Richburg and RT Mike McGlinchey. We've still given up WAY too many QB hits this year though. So I'm always looking for upgrades along the OL esp. once we got a FQB...and now, one coming off an ACL. I have our second pick going to a developmental LT but if he can play G at a very high level in the interim, even better!

LOL...Funchess. I've been talking with NY85 all day about him and receivers and the different skill sets at the X, slot and Z. Great stuff. I doubt Kyle changes his spots here so Funchess for the Z probably isn't an option. I agree (but it's my off season plan so Kyle doesn't have to use it --- haha). Maybe someone closer to Tyrell Williams if he does want size but the best bet, might be the draft...85/Hero are looking at Kelvin Harmon.

Notes: Jimmy Garoppolo will only count $19.35M this year. Do not resign DeForest Buckner. He's only counting $5.79M in 2019 and then we can exercise his 5th year option ($10M) and then Franchise Tag him cheap ($14-$15M) since he plays on the interior. No rush. Pierre Garcon and Malcolm Smith are just too costly to cut so they add veteran depth for 2019.

Salary Cap: We're projected to have $65.4M before cuts.
2019 Cap Cuts/Savings: Arik Armstead saves $9M + Garry Gilliam $5M + Cassius Marsh $4.2M + Earl Mitchell $2.95M + Garrett Celek $2.1M + Brock Coyle $1.8M + Dekoda Watson $1.5M + Malcolm Smith $1.25M + Pierre Garcon $1.2M + K'Wuan Williams $1.1M + Matt Dayes $645K + Trent Taylor $600K + Godwin Igwebuike $570K
2019 Total Cap: $97.3M

Free Agency: Over The Cap was used for free agency $ projections.
ER Trey Flowers 25 NE 89.7 #2 ED $17M APY - Franchise tagging him would cost over $17M and NE may want to lock up LT Trenton Brown also who won't be cheap. A saturated market could bring the cost down some but pairing him on the strong side with Nick Bosa at LEO and throw in an excellent rotational ER Preston Smith, suddenly we have a strength.
FS Earl Thomas 30 SEA 91.3 #3 S $11M APY - Absolute no-brainer and Adrian Colbert will learn from the master.
NT/DT Grady Jarrett 25 86.2 #13 DI $10M APY - Huge upgrade over Earl Mitchell allows Buckner to stay at 3T and Solomon Thomas to move to Big End and we can cut Arik Armstead's $9M with depth with Street and Taylor.
SAM/ER Preston Smith 26 WAS 79.4 #16 ED $9M APY - A real 6'6" 255 4.61 SAM who can cover and rush from the strong side and who never has to come off the field. Rotate with Bosa and Flowers or combination of all three in nickel.
ZWR Devin Funchess 24 CAR 69 #53 WR $8M APY - Enormous catching radius, security blanket, excellent blocker in the run and screen game and a RZ target (21 TD's) who should thrive with Garoppolo and Kyle's play calling and route refinement (like Marquise Goodwin).
WILL Jordan Hicks 26 PHI 72.6 #19 LB $7M APY - Veteran MIKE who moves to space at WILL to pair with Fred Warner and Preston Smith. Will learn both spots.
LCB Rashaan Melvin 29 OAK 56.9 #92 CB $4M APY - Veteran CB depth who fits our prototype to compete with Witherspoon and Moore.
RG Mike Person 30 SF 75.5 #6 G $4M APY - Reward our own with Joshua Garnett adding a push and depth.
Special Teams - PK Robbie Gould ($3.5M APY); P Bradley Pinion ($2.5M APY); RB Raheem Mostert ($1.2M APY); LS Kyle Nelson ($1.1M APY); WILL Elijah Lee ($1M APY) & SAM Mark Nzeocha ($800K APY) - Reward our own.

2019 Cap Spend - $80.1M
2019 Rookie Pool (5 picks) - $7.5M
2019 Remaining Cap - $10.5M

Is flowers really looking at 17-19 mil per year? That seems insane

You must really care about our informational needs and this team to put in this much work as well as enjoy this ish (lazy forum mofos).

Appreciate ya dude.

Team still trash
Ps
Did not read a single word

It's safe to say we've had a lot of downtime and hey, someone has to pay attention to this team, right? It's not like our FO or fans are. Appreciate the humor.

No but the market is. If a young top ER hits the mark, watch what happens. The good news is, there are quite a few ER's that 'might' hit the market and help saturate it a bit. But it'll be fun to watch.

Yeah. Refresh my memory, what was/is Lawrence wanting ? Wasn't it around the same amount? I was thinking Flowers would be significantly cheaper, like around 10-12 per year. Guess that's why I'm not a GM

Oh and they better come away with 2-3 impact ERs this offseason

Anytime bud! And yes, we better double dip and not rely on a rookie ER to save our franchise.

I definitely do not advocate reckless spending (wish that applied to my personal spending habits), but this team needs to add some top shelf talent via FA, and this should be a pretty good FA class to do so, especially at their areas of need. What did they spend last year, around $70mil? If they spend similarly this FA, they should be able to come away with a nice haul and fill some big holes.

Exactly. No 'close' excuses. They need to close. And here's some added motivation.

Hey Saleh...it's OK to have two edge rushers and use them every down.

Honestly these last games, I wish they would bench Solly and let Blair start. The man can play! #Baalkeboyz
