I was prepared for a year, where finally perhaps other teams would be scouting our waiver wire. While I feel good about almost all of our starters, I have been checking to see if we have signed Arby's or edge rushers in the NFL dumpster.

...or a true box-SS. So far, Korey Toomer (not even our guy) has been the only one to sign with another team.

Attaochu has been signed too, by NYJ. I guess the Niners don't suck as much as some people on here probably think they do.

Have we filled the hole at RB yet, or are they just gonna go with Morris, Brieda, and Mostert? Isn't there an open roster spot?

I think they are just gonna go with that.

So one spot left?

Our secret weapon this season, Marsh it is then.

The reporters should be grilling Shanny about why he believes in Marsh so much that he's untouchable. What has he shown in regular season games and what has he shown in practice, that you release other players (who just got picked up by other teams) and you don't bring in competition for that spot.

What's so special?

I've always felt Coaches having unproductive favorites is what slows down their success or sometimes brings it down. s**t doesn't make sense. Come on Kyle, snap out of it.

With Tobin and Coleman on the roster, you have to hope they will jettison Gilliam and then sign a RB to take McKinnon's spot. We hope.

The only healthy lineman right now are Coleman, Richburg, Staley, McGlinchey, Tomlinson, Person, and Garnett, while Gilliam and Magnuson aren't, so getting an extra OL is a good choice, can't fix everything with two moves, and exum is a good backup SS IMO.

the reason is his salary, no way would I eat $8.5M just to appease fans, it's a dumb move IMO, try and trade him at deadline, get something for him then. People need to quit acting like it's doom and gloom. And Marsh could surprise, sure he's been cut by 2 teams, but look at Day, cut by the Jags, cause he probably wasn't playing well, now look at him. trust the process, give them time.

It's a remainder of how bad things were, and how far we still have to go. We will be a competitive team. We will win more than we lose, but we aren't a dominate force yet.

I like our direction, and I'm still all in on the six year plan, it takes time to recover from such a disastrous era. I think we are 2-3 starters and a handful of back ups away from greatness.

This will be an exciting season, and I'm stocked to get it started!

The only thing you said I can disagree with is that we will win more than we will lose. I think we will do well to break even, but that we are headed the right way.

I'm hoping they are still looking for a running back and edge rusher with all the cuts during the weekend. Not very hopeful though - they haven't made any strong moves to sign another edge rusher other than putting Pita on the practice squad.

Agreed with you cc, I really thought they had something up their sleeve. Hearing we signed Tobin is just as bad as knowing Marsh is our edge guy

Completely agree - trust the process & give it time to play out rather than jump to your own conclusions.

But it's not like Marsh is a new FA signing. We've seen him on the field. Forget the other teams who cut him. WHAT'S SO SPECIAL? You've watched him right?

As far as Ward, it just seems like they don't want to eat that money PLUS have him get signed by another team and do well in a different system.

I felt we should have moved on, but we're going to eat that money anyway... so if he gets injuried again, we can just replace him with someone who we should've kept anyway.
