Good news is we have no major FA after this season with Tartt extended, and Brown traded, plus we have $40.99M in cap room right now with all 9 picks factored in, and for 2019, $33.735M, before carryover, which should be at least $35M. So we're looking at $60M next year, this is before knowing Tartt's terms

Some details on Tartt's 2yr extension, his cap number appears to have gone up by $1.5m this season, my guess is a $4.5M signing bonus(prorated at $1.5M from 2018-2020).

Base salaries are $3M and $4.3M for 2019-2020, if the $13M base value is correct, than that leaves $1.2M un-accounted for, so $600K in per game roster bonuses & workout bonuses each year, so his 2019 and 2020 cap number would be $5.1M, and $6.4M

Probably half and half. But I like the size and the decent production he had in college. I'm wondering if there is something Kyle saw in him (other than him possibly doing favors for an old friend) that might enable him to become a tradable pick for us in the future. You know how defensive minded head coaches are enamored with tall rocket armed QB's. I'm thinking if Kyle can make him look like a QB to a desperate doofus defensive head coach - with his QB whispering skills, a 6th or a 7th pick in a trade isn't something to sneeze at.

FYI NC Patrick Choudja didn't sign a UDFA deal, he will be in attendance for minicamp as a tryout player. I was given this info from a source who told me before the draft that they liked Choudja, and the source expects Choudja to be signed by end of minicamp

Interesting prospect, raw, the pro day (?) numbers were nice. From just a quick eyeball guess, his numbers were very comparable to the ones handed out at the combines for the higher draft defensive end picks. If he is signed, I am looking forward to see if he makes progress as an edge rusher in preseason.
