And the proof they aren't? Because both are just rookies ... and both were saddled with glaring holes (impossible to fill all of them in one off season) at most all of the most important positions. Too early to judge them negatively, but based on his organization it's not too soon to judge Shanahan the best offensive mind this 49ers organization has seen in at least 23 seasons. No matter how good an offensive coach one might be, without players who can execute the offense you will lose more than you win.
