How is the rebuilt measuring up so far?

I'm loving this 20 game pre-season format.
I'd rather have the QB Shanahan wants than Watson.

That is exactly what this is. There are just a few more players we need to get tape on.

I think Watson would fit anywhere.

Signing hoyer - So you are saying that Hoyer is playing well and was a good signing? I think the facts disagree.
Not drafting watson - Are you saying Watson is not playing better than any other 49er QB? Facts again disagree.
Not drafting or signing better CBs - Are you saying Robinson and company are not getting burned left and right? Again that isn't an opinion.
Not getting better at interior OL - Our interior OL is playing well?
Trying AA at leo - How productive has AA been? 6 games, 8 tackles 1.5 sacks.
Signing Juice and not using him much. Through 5 games, 3 runs for 11 yards, 8 catches for 80 yards 1 TD. Does that sound like the highest paid FB in the league?

At no ppint did I say this guy or that guy was doing well or that they're vetter than other guys. What you don't seem able to comprehend is that if one of those 'mistakes" is rectified then there's a butterfly effect. You don't just get to add a QB, O-line, CB's in hindsight and say "yup this proves it". For example...

If we draft Watson there's no trade back for draft capital, there's no Thomas, no Foster etc, and there's zero guarantee that Watson performs in this current 9ers team. So no, not fact - opinion.

Drafting and signing this guy and that guy. Blah blah. Can only sign what's available and willing to come. Seeing as none of us really know what was willing to come and for what price you can't qualify it as a mistake because we have no idea what alternatives were available and viable.

Same with drafting. You're already giving up Thomas and Foster to get Watson so what do you do then? Sign a better CB in the second - great. What are you doing about the D-line and LB you passed on though? Are you really going to rely on 3rd-6 round picks? But wait, apparently according to the list we have to draft a better RB.

Hell, all we have to do is hit on every single pick and sign guys who have no free will of their own to decide who and where they play for or for how much money. That will fix everything in a single off season.

Long story short, you can't address those positions without giving up something somewhere else so the outcome is not assured. No fact for you.

AA - When we drafted Thomas and signed Mitchell, AA's position was immediately under threat. Playing him at LEO was an attempt to see if there were alternative options before we gave up on him. Some can call it a mistake, others call it leaving no stone unturned. That's what a rebuilding year is, assessing who can fit where and I would rather we moved pieces around to assess them than try once and give up because reasons. So again...mistake? Nope it's an opinion, not fact.

We don't even have a true LEO, but I suppose we should have signed or drafted one because why not, apparently in this alternate reality we can hit on any draft pick and sign anyone we want.

Exactly........great post.

Boom, roasted.

Trading for Bibbs literally cost them nothing. You're just complaining to complain as usual.

The trade for Bibbs netted us a pick that got us Taylor. People seem to like Taylor so far.

sus doesnt even know who taylor is. dont mind him

Kyle was not going to sign a bunch of guys and design a system around it. He chose to bring his system here and find the pieces to make it work and that takes times.

WELL said

Year 1 of full rebuild. They need to try things. Non of these complaints have cost us anything for year 2 or 3. Had we have picked Watson you would be complaining about him since he would struggle with our young team. Watson washout on a team with a good defense and much better WRs.
