That's the best team the new coach and gm could put on the field.
Color me impressed.

Defensive takeaway is we held the CAR offense to 288 yards of total offense and really it was less than this. 40yds+ in garbage time. 171 yds passing and 117 yds on the ground. Two takeaways.. Ill take that. If we get any offensive production. ANY at all and we have a team that can compete and win games.
They'll compete fine at home. We're going to get blown the eff out on the road.

They ran the ball well, other than the botched blocking on the 4th down run attempt they did well on run blocking situations. Of course there needs to be work there, but all in all Hyde ran 9 times for 45 yards. My question is why only run the man NINE times if he is averaging 5 yards a pop. Give that guy the ROCK 20 times and this game could've been different.

I agree...maybe not overspent but at least focused on the OL. Maybe if Hoyer had pass protection he would have been decent.

Kyle should do what Bill did with Joe and Steve DeBerg. Let Hoyer QB into the red zone then put Beathard in. It helps build confidence that's what Joe said. He said he felt bad for DeBerg but he learned how to win in the red zone early on.
But didn't Bill do that in 1980, not 1979? That would put Beathard in the games next season if the comparison holds.
BTW, I agree with you on it being a good idea. Still too early, though. Maybe by late this season, but better to do it next year.

Our tackles are fine. Our guards and maybe center are bad.
