There were def some outside factors that contributed to the downfall. Some blame is on Baalke and some was on just really s**tty luck
I don't think it is fair to say Harbaugh drafted these guys. Its pretty well documented how Baalke ran this team and you could see how unsatisfied Harbaugh & Co was by how little they subbed. I dont think ive ever seen a pro team substitute their starters less lol

The choices by Baalke was one of their biggest issues, Harbaugh knew they were either garbage or just didn't fit the scheme.

and for the A-holes that want to be techincal, yes, I'm sure harbaugh had say on a few of them. Just not most.
Control became an issue when Baalke and York found out Harbs was sniffing around Michigan and they were sniffing around him.

I've said that multiple times on this board and for some reason folks just don't want to believe its possible.

cause it just isn't true lol

There was huge issues way before Michigan was sniffing around, I am sure it got worse once Michigan was a real threat, but it was towards the end of their run.

This was reported in Feb 2014. The odds of Michigan being in the picture at that point are incredibly slim.

"Sanders tweeted that Michael Crabtree was not his source."

"Sanders tweeted that his sources wear "uniforms, suits, and ties."

Our FO got what they wanted, and we had to suffer. Seeing everyone quit after he was fired, how many players really wanted him gone? Boone and Staley maybe? Only silver lining is Jed learned to stay the f*** out of the way for Kyle and Lynch.

Wins and losses are where the rubber meets the road. Whether or not Harbaugh is a good or bad talent evaluator, he wins. That counts for something. He had three years of playoff success in the NFL and then one year of .500 ball. When he leaves, the 49ers become sub .500. Then he goes to Michigan and wins there. When Baalke is in charge - look at the wins and losses. From a talent evaluation standpoint, I think Harbaugh wins vs. Baalke. Again, if Harbaugh had total control of the ball club, I think he'd still be coach here. The guy didn't waste any time on irrelevant issues such as cutting the ribbon on the new stadium, he spent every waking hour on how to win. Which also means he spent every waking hour evaluating talent, scheme, and personnel to win. I don't think luck is involved when everywhere he goes, he wins.

Well I don't think he would. Greg Roman proved beyond of a shadow of a doubt in Buffalo that he was a mediocre coach. Kap has also proven to not be a consistent enough quarterback. Neither of those things change if Harbaugh stays as coach no matter who they draft. If he spent every waking hour on those things he wouldn't have kept Roman.

If the Bears are terrible this season it wouldn't surprise me to see them blow things up and hire Harbaugh. Then we will see who is right.

Disagree, Colin was lights out when he had speed. Moss, delainie, and a healthy Kyle, he was lights out and made the super bowl. We now have the speed I wished when Colin was here. Speed makes it easier for the QB reads. Harbaugh's idea of a dual threat QB is still a good one, but Baalke never gave him the personnel he needed to run it.

I'll believe it when I see it...4 head coaches over the last 4 years.
no1cur.

New era has begun.

Hope it reaches even higher heights and sustained success this time around.

Should prob just let it go.

Anything to deflect attention from Lord Baalke... The teflon don..

I bet some will believe that Harbaugh extended Mcdonald's contract in 2 years after saying enough times to yourselves.

The worst thing to happen to this franchise and some will still protect Trent.

I never seen anything like this.. Pathetic

(Change the thread to Baalke's draft picks)

This title was the GM's responsiblility and he has a history of not drafting well to say the least, do the math.. Whether some choose to accept it or not. Get a grip on reality...

Is Trent a demi god? I never seen so many fooled by a failed individual.. It makes you wonder posters fan hood. Are they for Baalke or the niners???

Im not sure at this point with so many trying to recreate history.

Just because Harbaugh didn't say this guy sucks Baalke wanted him doesn:'t mean it was his pick. There's time when you know that the coach lobbied for the pick but people stretch it here. Kap was definitely his pick, James was probably his pick. I'm sure he had alot more say than Tomsula, Kelly did.

There are so many ungrateful posters. Wow, I'm surprised Harbaugh even took us to a super bowl with a snake like Baalke but we are living in a world today where false narratives are the modern day weapon...

I'm sorry Baalke apologists, you need to smell the folgers cup..

He should get a medal for ever dealing with this ungrateful b******t..

Harbaugh will always be the niners fall guy.. f**king weird things go on around here..

I dont know if its shehawk fans or baalke followers but its f**king weird...

I'm a niner fan.....

Beware of cowards... who smile in your face and stab you when you turn around. Its more common than people think..

Loyalty is becoming extinct. Sadly. True story..

I feel QB was the only position Harbaugh was given leeway ie Kap...the rest of the picks were by Baalke. Reports of their feud began just after the 2012 draft when Harbaugh didn't play both 1st and 2nd round picks Jenkins and James at all...to the dismay of the scouts and Front office. We now know it's because they both sucked and were horrible picks.

It's really weird to me that people think Jim actually wanted Kap. He doesn't fit one attribute of a typical Jim style QB. They wanted Andy Dalton and traded up to get him.

IMO after Cincy took Dalton Trent / Paraag took Kap to justify trading up to that pick.

Trent / Paraag had 70 draft picks to find a QB. They drafted Kap and Driskel lol.

If Jim was anti Kap he would of never had to play him. He could of rode the Alex train. Maybe he had Dalton over him but the way he treated Alex says a lot to how strongly he had to of felt about Kap.
