Shanny managed the Falcons from the booth. Will being at field level change his style, for the better, or not? Personally, I think that for Offense, it might be a bit of a negative until mid october and then he'll get things smoothed out.

Big reason why he signed Hoyer. He already knows Shanny's offense.

It works for McCarthy...I don't think it'll be an issue. If it does become an issue though....has a HC who is also the play-caller every stayed in the booth during games?

better view from the booth. he should be up there if he's gonna be playing OC.

depends if its talent or issues with play calling

KS seems like a guy who always wants to get better. I think he might even bring in more people, even if we don't struggle

I cannot think of a head coach who did not stand on the sidelines. Anyone?

they are not allowed to. But there was one incident where Sean Payton injured his knee and was able to coach from the booth

Kyle has been raised in football. He got the best teacher, life with a dad that coached. Can you imagine the dinner table talks.... the I want to be like you dad bed time talks. Kyle got a heads up on coaching from childhood.

It's a given this offense will struggle this year, simply because there are so many rookies and first time 49ers on the offensive squad. So I don't think he will get another coach to take that over until kyle has that offense where he wants it.

As for playcalling, When Walsh got Holmgren, I think he eventually turned some play calling to him. Once Kyle gets an OC he is comfortable with, I can see him delegating the play calling to that guy, and that OC might be calling plays from the booth the way Mike Shanahan called it for Seifert.

Irrelevant question because there is no way he can be head coach from the booth. Technology isn't dependable enough to have the head coach and oc calling plays from the box. We've had head set problems before

non-issue. He addressed this in an interview and he said that last year was the first time he was in the booth. A good football mind knows what to call regardless of where they are.

Hopefully it improves second half clock management and play calling in big games.
