Who's paying him top dollar after this season?

Exactly. No real RB history prior to 2019, bounced around the league, injured 3 out of 4 years with season enders? Mostert's best bet is to take what the 49ers offer him and try to earn big dollars next year. Matt Breida falling off of cliff doesn't help Mostert's case either.

100% this. Niners should resign him and he should accept--best chance to shine with Shanny's system and Niners should use him as part of a 1-2 punch to support Lance and mitigate injury risk at RB.

keep him and wilson and maybe hasty,, dump the third round bust or let him stick around but he will never be a player..... then just find a free agent or rookie like we usually can do

I can roll with this but I doubt they dump Sermon already.

i get it,, give him a chance but to me he is on a short joe williams type of leash

Why re-sign him if you can find starting RB's in the 6-7 rounds and/or free agency?

I like Mostert but...

You know another Raheem Mostert we can find in round 6 or 7? Those of us who want him, and at a low price at that, are doing so for the homerun element he brings. We want Terrell Davis/Clinton Portis, not Reuben Droughns/Orlandis Gary.

I'm willing to hit the UDFA market but regardless of what we do, the dimension Mostert brings isn't easy to find.
Glad his son appears to be on the mend

Is he? Man, I was really feeling bad. But I don't trust it. I don't know if people have been in dire straights, healed and then back in dire straights again, but I'm still nervous. Hope he fully recovers.
Prayers up for his little boy.

Yes you can find "starting" RB's that late, but rarely can you find the SPEED that Mostert has that late. It doesn't look like we found a starting RB in the 3rd round this year. And even as good as Mitchell has been, he does not have the speed of Mostert - THAT is why we've seen Deebo in the backfield so much this year.

There's a lot of retread stubborn GMs who get entranced by the combine or pro day 40-time.

I bet there's a lot of players that simply don't run well in a staged 40-time.

Game speed with the pads in the 2nd half of a game is what it's about.

I want them to bring him back as a depth piece but I also think he could be used as a returner -- he did it in the past.

What's going on with his son?
After watching Akers come back from a Achilles in 6 months and Mostert has what most medical info says is a 12 week recovery time injury is little disappointing.

Had a dangerously high fever due to Covid

Definitely is, I would still bring him back for OUR price only. If he gets overpriced by another team I'll let him go with no stress

Plus he'd still be a dynamic gunner on ST. He just wouldn't have to shoulder the full load by himself.
