Neither will Garoppolo (based on our current offensive line and our front office's lack of a desire to fix it). It's silly to try to extrapolate things over a 16 game season. With the amount of brutal hits Shanahan subjects JG to, he may never last a full season.

PBM?

If it's PBM to be concerned about the health of our franchise QB behind our swiss cheese line. Garoppolo isn't built to take a lot of hits and has already suffered one serious injury during his short career. I don't get why so many of you are happy with protecting him with 1st round busts. With our current line, JG is bound to get hit A LOT.

He can take hits just fine and is as tough as they come.

And that injury youre referring to, the AC joint sprain, is not serious at all. The treatment is usually icing it unless its extreme. If the coaches feel that Garnett/Cooper/Tomlinson along with the huge upgrade at center are enough to keep him from getting hit much, which he didnt get hit much last season, then I'll trust them.

Nelson may very well be a bust, just like those other 1st rounders you're talking about. Higher rated OL coming out of the draft have.

They are improving the line, they just signed Richburg at center. It doesn't happen overnight.

This...OL will be much better than last years that's for sure. Rome wasn't built in a day.

You can have the best offensive line in football but when Hoyer and Beathard are holding the ball all day sacks are going to happen. JG quick release does wonders for the offensive line. I'm more worried about the running game with the offensive line.

Guy seems to be busting his ass this off season, hope he makes the team.

With all the Jimmy G and offensive line talk, I thought for a few seconds I had accidentally gotten in the wrong thread topic.

Plus Jimmy doesn't need 10 sec. to make a throw, he reads the field quick and has a lightening quick release. We'll likely get a starting guard in rounds 1-3.

brick by brick!

the otis arney love for this guy does not take away from the fact that in my opinion we need a vet somewhere along the line and a nice big rookie. jimmy makes em better but two of our three wide outs are coming off major injuries and one is getting up there,

Goodwin injury wasn't major. Was a bad concussion.

You make too much sense. Therefore, youre going to get ridiculed on here.

A bad concussion is a major issue . esp everytime he gets hit now. he is one hit away,.

Rod Smith only had six catches as a rookie udfa playing in Shanahan's offense with Elway on the Broncos, he broke out big time in year 3. Bourne looked raw last year but if he keeps putting in the work the sky's the limit. His long catch and run against the Titans was a thing of beauty. Might've had his first TD against the Jags but Garoppolo got hit right before he released the ball. As stated in the breakdown, I love Bourne's ability as a hands catcher, some young guys have the tendency to trap the ball against their body (Vernon Davis comes to mind) Bourne snags it out of the air and keeps running

More of an exaggerated opinion than sense. The OL didn't look bad when they had a real NFL QB behind them. Plus we already got a huge upgrade in the middle.
