7th round pick cb/s

Oh, duh...he's the only one I don't have making the team from our draft class. Lorenzo (UDFA) fits the single-high FS role better. Lynch noted we'd try out Colbert at CB but there is a log jam there. Just no room for him...not sure if he really fits to develop on the PS.

I think Cole makes the roster.

Same here. He makes it or has an "injury" of some sorts.

Great list
I don't see how Beadles doesn't make our 53 man roster. He's a versatile Guard who can play other positions as well. Worse case he becomes a back up, but right now I see our line as: Staley-Beadles-Zuttah-Garnett-Brown.

This is the last year of Zane's contract and cutting him would save us $3.450M with only $500K dead money. He's 30.

So it comes down to economics and long-term thinking/planning/development. Plus we just signed Brandon Fusco who's 2 years younger and cheaper too. Magnuson can play both T & G. Kilgore can play C & G. We also signed Tim Barnes who too, like Fusco, is 2 years younger and cheaper.

...just things the FO needs to consider now and into the future.

I agree with your lineup today though.

Beadles has 2 years remaining on his contract, so we'd have to do a June 1st cut to only take a 500+ thousand dollar hit this year, but next years hit would be over a million. Kilgore is someone I could see being traded though, because he's constantly hurt, and he is going into his final season.

My apologies...it was a 3 year deal (thought it was 2). Yeah, it would have to be a post June 1st cut to save that. Yeah, Kilgore is another on notice as well. Grabbing Zuttah and Magnuson and then immediately signing Brusco & Barnes right after the draft tells you changes are coming and that they weren't able to get their OL in the draft (meaning, they had plans to make some changes). It'll be fun to see how this shakes out...I'll be adjusting my 53 as we go (naturally).
I hear you, and if Beadles is beaten out, then naturally I'm fine with him going. I agree that we'll be making moves to get younger, across the board. Like I said earlier I thik Brooks should be cut/traded to make way for someone who might have a long term future here, either as a starter or a back up. Reid is in that trade boat as well, because he's one concussion away from being done, and I'd like to see Tartt take over the SS spot. Reid's base salary is guaranteed, so if we can't trade him, he will make the roster because there's no point in cutting him if we're paying him his whole salary any ways.

Personally I'd like to see Reid+Brooks traded away for what ever we can get. Neither is a long term answer here, and we could roll over more cap space for next season, and also give playing time to more kids.

I agreed with you. We should trade Reid and Brooks else to team.

Beatles excels in this type of run game.
Keep him

Great list

It's certainly a talented list, but the only way it happens is if the 49ers keep 9 OL on the 53. Between 53 and PS, they need to be able to field 10 OL at each practice, so the offense can practice and the defense has a scout team. I'd be pretty surprised if they keep more than 8 OL on the 53.

Beadles proved last year dude can take snaps and can his business in game action at C AND T as well.. keep him, easily unless traded for say a pass rusher.

I'm hoping Beadles makes it, too, from a sheer flexibility standpoint. The FA's that we picked up may be younger, but they are all journeyman guys.
