Celek actually had more drops, lots of big time players out there with similar amount of drops. I'm not worried about Vance, if he stays he'll be just fine.

And replace him with who? His ass would get scooped up in two secs and with a good Qb/scheme would easily out perform his past stats.

I agree that he'all be better with Hoyer, but Shan didn't use TEs a whole lot last year. He did use them just enough though. That extension is a lot for a guy who might be used 'just enough', but who knows Vance would've been the best TE on the ATL roster last year, maybe we'll use the TE more than ATL did.

idk, but it's pretty clear shanahan/lynch don't think much of him. They're just forced to keep him for now.

McDonald, Kittle, Hikutini, with Juice spending time there as well. Celek and Bell are replaceable, and Paulsen is a blocking tight end only, and he wasn't great at that last year. I really hope the young guys beat out Celek and Paulsen. Hikutini is a gpod receiver, and Kittle has a chance to be a complete player.

Bell is still a project and is neither a good receiver nor blocker at this point.
Celek is a decent #2 TE but the additions of Kittle and Paulsen means he has no role. The former is a better receiver and blocker, the latter is a much better blocker leaving Celek out in the cold.
Everyone falls in love with UDFAs like Hikutini but there is good reason why he wasnt drafted coming out of a big program at Louisville, it certainly wasnt a lack of exposure. He is a limited player who is a weak blocker and that will likely lead him to a spot on the PS.
Spot on...natural pass catcher, indeed. Good routes. Decent cut blocker on the move. Terrible in-line blocker/protector everywhere else. LOL

Is Paulsen as good a blocker as everyone thinks? I genuinely know next to nothing about him and can't help but be excited by a Mcdonald, Kittle and Hikutini trio over Paulsen/Celek
