I cut out half the article and only left in what applied to the 49ers...also, links break and get shut down in the future. Adding the content only related to us ensures we can always revisit this in the future. And on this one, no doubt, we will.

WZ isn't my site and I'm not a content creator so I don't care who does what. I understand your intent to be helpful and facilitate discussion, but I'm just telling you as a statement of fact that even omitting some parts of an article while still quoting large portions verbatim is violating the copyright, especially when you don't link to the source.

Absolutely...I really like how Lynch had written off the RB Williams, but he revisited the idea since Shanahan wanted him. Could you even imagine Baalke doing this for any HC here, and for an OFFENSIVE player???

Looks like the 49ers were pretty high in TJ Watt. Wouldn't have minded that pick since he has a ton of upside.

Yup, with Baalke it would have probably sparked an in-house feud and more dysfunction. I like how these guys really worked collaboratively, especially Lynch, Shanny, and Paraag.

LOL...Baalke didn't have anyone to argue with...it was "Me, myself and I" and that was just as big of an issue.

A really great read and tremendous insight into the 49ers' thought process. This article shows why the inevitable round of post-draft grades are soooooo meaningless. Every team has their own valuation on these players, and that valuation can differ wildly from what Kiper, Mayock, et. al. think. In the end, everyone's evaluation has about a 50% chance of being wrong, and luck plays an enormous role.

CJ Beathard was the only QB Shanahan wanted to draft? The Niners were prepared take Reuben Foster at #3 if Solomon weren't available? Joe Williams was the guy they were losing sleep over? Wow.
