Early 2nd round pick maybe. Middle and late 2nd round pick no. I need more details. Who was the deal? What was the offer? The people who say outright no are not looking at the full picture. He's 31 with a huge salary. This team isn't winning now anyway. Rebuilding younger for the future may have made sense. But we don't have all the information.

Not sure I would have done it BUT if I were this was the year. Warren at 11(I know NY can't separate). We could have got an edge setting DE just as good in rounds 2 or 3. Someone like Jack Sawyer.
Warren isn't Kittle but I think he would have been the perfect weapon for Kyle.
Don't think I would have done it but wouldn't have been the end of the world if we would have taken Warren.

Have to say, there has been some really dumb stuff out there so far this off-season. Trading Kittle and trading Purdy are two of the dumbest. Wake me up when some plonker writes one saying that we should trade Bosa for a 3rd.
Add Bosa and Warner to that list.
This, I'm so tired of dumb trade ideas, IMO guys like Brock, Kittle, TW, CMC, Warner, Bosa are guys I wouldn't trade, we need veteran leadership, which is what CMC, TW & Kittle bring, the youth in Brock, and Warner, who isn't exactly Young Young, but he's still in his prime, and will be for a while.

Why would they do that? Kittle is a known commodity. He's the best all around TE in the game. He makes big plays. He's a team leader. Why take a chance on a 2nd round pick that could be a bust. I wouldn't trade him for a 1st rounder.
I wouldn't do this trade either, it'd have to have been multiple picks, like a 1 & 3 even then I'd say no, I don't want Kittle gone, he actually plays through injuries, he contributes, same as Warner, he'll get extended once Brock is extended,

Kittle is million times better than Warren. I would have taken Loveland over him (even though he went top 10).
Sawyer will never be a pass rusher in this league imo. Williams at the very least has the upside to be a good 3 down DE.

No. This tweet sums up my take on the subject very well.
If a team is offered a second round pick for a 31 year old tight end, they should send that tight end over before they hang up the phone.

If a team is offered a second round pick for George Kittle, you hang up the phone immediately.
Two different things completely.

Absolutely not. I wouldn't even do it for a first unless it was in top half. Kittle is a hall of fame still playing at a high level. I understand that can stop at any time but you just live with the known quantity.

lol right, not all 31 year old TEs are equal.
IMO, Kittle is so much more than a TE. He's a leader, best blocker, one of the best at receiver, he's the heart and soul out there. He's everything you could hope a 49er to be and still in his prime. Idk if I'd of done it for a first round pick, honestly. Depends on the team if I would even consider it.
kittle is a core piece. It would take a lot more than a 2bd to get me to lose him. Even if kittle is 75% the player he has been, it's still a damn good TE.

I will never forget that clip when we lost to the Chiefs the 1st time in the Super Bowl and Kittle said, "I will be back. I will be back and I will be back with a mutha f*cking vengeance." If that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does.
