This. And when with a more capable qb throwing the kid will be better next year.

Fast as fuuuuukc for a TE and smooth hands. .... VD didn't look this good his first 3 seasons.

Kittle and Celek stick, Paulson will continue the merry go round with the roster, Huk has a shot to compete. IMO target an athletic freak in the middle rounds who is raw but shown flashes. JG throws such an accurate catchable ball that a younger Julius Thomas type could help out the red zone offense tremendously.

I wouldn't worry about TE at all in FA or the draft. Now if someone Shanahan really likes at TE slides way down, then that's another story, but we have Kittle and Celek locked in right now, with Hikutini and Paulsen lingering around. Hikutini can be put on the PS if we have to. I would be looking at many other positions before TE right now. Also Juice lines up at TE here and there, so we're good for now.

It all depends on who is available. If the 49ers trade down with a team that is QB hungry, I would happily take Dallas Goedert who would provide a legit redzone weapon. Pair him up with Kittle and that'd be a potentially scary duo at TE, similar to what NE once had.

I hope we do trade down to a team that is QB hungry. Look at what the Browns got this year because they moved down last year. They traded down from 12 to 25, and got the Texans first round pick this year as well, which ended up being the number 4 pick in the draft. That move looks genius right now, because they most likely will take Rosen number 1, and then get someone like Barkley at 4.
If we could trade down from 10 to around 20-25, and get a 1st round pick next year as well, then I would be really happy. We could then take BPA at our new draft slot.
