Do you mean "could have lost"? if so, seems like a weird thing to fret about now.

... and Kittle could have not been as good as he is NOW had he gone to a team like Chicago..

Of all his highlights, one stands out above the rest. Unique

if he wasn't facemasked he woulda scored, no way he was getting tackled

Agreed. That was the defining moment of 2019, I thought when the Saints scored we were done for, then on 4th and 2, I was like oh f**k we're losing, then Jimmy threw to Kittle, and he got facemasked and carried defenders with him for a 1st down, that may have been our best win, showing we could stick with the high powered offense of the Saints. I think we may have won by more had Tartt been healthy.

I agree - that was the signature game of the year. Gave us all kinds of confidence.

The look of dejection on the player sitting down after the play was over was awesome. That clip didn't show it, but during the live play of the game, great view of the sideline and coaches faces during the non-tackle, penalty, and end of play was priceless.

Hehe this a different take. It's usually "man, we drafted this guy too early, we could've gotten him at a later round".

This is great, it also shows that Cohn was wrong lol

He'll get 100+ receptions this year

Great story, these negotiations are delicate. I still remember the Reggie White negotiations where both eagles organization and Reggies organization assumed the deal was going to be done and approached the relationship in a very casual manner. Next thing you know, both sides were threatening each other, and as you well know, Green Bay was the winner in that one. Johns awareness about Jed's difficulties could have been the key to saving the deal. If Jed saw the agents counter *at the wrong time*, the way the eagles got Reggie's counter, Kittle would probably be F-Tagged next year, and quite possibly traded in a year or two a-la Buckner. Glad John, Jed, and Kyle are all on the same page.

David, you and most of your brethren outclass Grant by a factor of several thousands.
Kittle did a spot in NFLN rocking a sweet t-shirt of Jimmy wearing a mask wearing the t-shirt of George wearing a t-shirt of shirtless Jimmy.

How far can this thing go?!?

He even made sure to draw attention to it.

Kittle is the best player we have had since T.O.

I think you mean best pass catcher not best player.

No, he might be right - who else is better?

Patrick Willis can certainly enter the chat. Although its hard to compare two different positions on opposite sides of the ball. We'll just say he's the best offensive player we've had since TO.

Fair enough.

Honorable mentions: Frank Gore, Joe Staley

Not honorable mentions. Staley & Gore are easily in that category. The sustained success from Staley and Gore as well as the amazing stories behind their careers is right up there with the best. And P. Willy is one of the Goats. I hope Kittle can be in that conversation 10 years from now. He's damn near there already. I wasn't old enough to enjoy the golden years. This is literally my list of favorite 49ers of All Time.

That being said, there is some merit to this argument and George will show whether he is up there at the tip top with Rice, Owens or any of the other Goats.

Kittle is gonna be an all-time great and the best TE in franchise history........if he can play 5 more years because his style makes me think if he is gonna be able of playing even the next 3 years at an elite level.

"On Wednesday, Aug. 12, Bechta and Marathe were closing in on an agreement when each of their phones started blowing up with texts and calls from GMs, agents and others around the league: SI.com's "All 49ers" website had reported that the 49ers and Kittle on Friday would announce a six-year, $94.8 million extension, with $47.4 million guaranteed and a $25 million signing bonus. Both Bechta and Marathe were stunned by the report.

"We both said, 'What the f--- is this?' " Bechta said."

Oh, Grant
