Why not try Hikutini at WR? He can lose about 5 pounds and he would be the same size as Mike Evans. Cole ran a 4.78 but that was just coming off a knee injury and not training at all for the 40. Beat writers have mentioned many times that his athleticism and natural hands stand out in practice.

No one is going to sign him, he'll be on our PS and we can red-shirt him this year.

I'm not sure he has enough wiggle to convert to WR. There are some bigger guys like Evans, Funchess, Colston..etc who had the size to play WR or possibly TE. To me, Hikutini as a TE has plus hands and athleticism to be a mismatch against linebackers and some safeties. He's got more value there than WR imo.
We're most likely gonna just develop Kittle. Hikutini goes to the practice squad. Next year draft a stud TE or get a top one in free agency to go with Kittle.

Kittle should be a solid rookie contributor for us. Real chance he starts now. His blocking is developed from college, especially on the move which is great in this scheme. He's also got solid receiving skill and athleticism. I'm excited about him.

Nowhere on a 9ers roster.

This is what I think. Kittle is ready now and will be money for us, injuries aside. This coaching staff will show that it isn't that difficult for a rookie who was fairly polished in college to be an instant contributor. It's football, not rocket science.

No veteran presence in the TE position?

I'm not really sure. But I'm sure he wants multiple solid tight ends.
