i assume he will be limited in practice for the rest of the year?

Wouldn't surprised as all if that's the case. He's not completely healed and he's just gutting it up and one of those healthy enough to play I guess. Hopefully it will continue to heal even if he continues to play and praying he doesn't have any setbacks from wear and tear.

1. Niners dominate the first part of the season.
2. Kittle exits with an injury in the 4th quarter vs. Arizona...Niners punt twice and the Cards nearly come back.
3. Niners lose a tight game to Seattle. No Kittle.
4. Niners squeak by Arizona who show's no respect for the pass and the run game craps out. No Kittle.
5. Kittle returns along with the Niners utter domination of GB.

Yeah, but he's close - he'd be so much of a boost to the team, hopefully he's a go.
need him bad for both the running and pass
Yep.

Finally! Makes sense.
Kyle Shanahan said George Kittle's knee injury was a "popped capsule." Said the knee is probably more of a concern for Kittle re-injuring than the bone, which he described as like "shaved tree bark" but is stable and can't be made worse #49ers

Shaved tree bark, yeah that sounds like a textbook avulsion fracture.
So it's not a bruise?
On the knee when Shanahan said "popped capsule, or whatever that means" -- he's almost certainly referring to the bursa sac.
Than you... Just curious because a poster got pissed at me in this thread yesterday because he was certain Kittle had a bruised knee, even though everyone was guessing. And it wasn't a bruise after all lol

He is now almost 4 real time weeks past his injury. He will get stronger each week from here on out.

By the time the playoffs roll around, Kittle should be 100% healed from these issues if none are aggravated. I suffered the same ankle injury Kittle did when I was playing football and got my foot caught in a divot running a deep in route. I finished the rest of the game thinking I just sprained it before it swelled up and got all bruised later that night. I was running again at 4 weeks, mostly pain free by about 6 weeks.
