I hate this, feels like when we dealt Buck. The players understand that it's a business, but Shanalynch have talked about building a family. You don't penny pinch with your family. Juice is a core player that represents everything we stand for, he's the kind of guy you stand by.

I hate it too but nothing lasts forever. It was inevitable and maybe even a year too late.

I understand he is an aging player. What I don't get is there was no developmental player behind the position unless KS is moving out of the FB business?
Goodbye Juice!!! Great career here.

By Bill Walsh or Andy Reids standards it was a year too late.

Are you in a FB only Fantasy Football League?
Sucks to lose Juice, but its a business at the end of the day. Next man up... And lets be honest, its not a given that we don't somehow get him back cheaper in free agency. Let him test the market... Unfortunately, very few teams use fullbacks so his market is somewhat limited.

I think we've already replaced him in Luke Farrell and for more money, but could be wrong.

I get the business side of things, had no problem moving from Deebo, and understand why we couldn't match Dre or Hufanga's market given their injury history.

Juice is like Kittle to me, he embodies what you ask for in a 49er, for me those are the guys you lock up until they can't play anymore. The locker room effect could be felt more than the potential upgrade, and I don't think we actually saved any money.
Yeah there won't be another Juice. Solid player.

Looks like Kristin is upset, understandably but at the same time, I guess it shouldn't be a surprise in this buis, nothing is forever. It sure sucks though:/. It's not like his career is over..someone will snatch him up quickly.

We re-set the market at;

FB - Juice
K - Gould
RB - CMC

and now we are talking about other teams over paying players? We are going to see how important the FB position is this upcoming season without Juice.

Any draft prospects?

Do any college teams use a FB these days?

I don't think many do. Maybe they can find a gem in the 7th round. He is a team leader, but we all saw this coming.

Maybe UDFA since no other teams are looking for a true FB either? Why draft a position that no one uses?

I hate that we are losing him, but he was barely ever used. Never understood that, when every time he was given an opportunity the man delivered big.
