As of this moment it's Ellington and this guy. Kerley isn't signed.

True. Burbridge has some ability. Quality signing and added competition.

YWR: Jeremy Kerley; Aaron Burbridge, Bruce Ellington & DeAndre Carter
wtf i thought andre carter retired hella long ago
our Taylor Gabriel
He almost made the Patriots roster. By those standards, he's a lock to make ours.

Strengths Stocky frame with good body control. Low center of gravity allows him to shut down route and open quickly. Outstanding separation quickness laterally. Highly competitive with well-known work ethic. Finds the holes against zone coverage and is ready as soon as leather touches glove. Explosive lower body and plays to it.

Weaknesses Short with smaller catch radius for moderately accurate quarterbacks. Will be overwhelmed at point of attack if asked to block from slot. Hasn't faced quickness he'll see in the NFL. Draft Projection Round 6 or 7

Sources Tell Us "I wouldn't bet against him, but he has to prove he can be a return guy to make it early in his career. He's a fifth wide receiver to me." -- NFC area scout

Bottom Line Explosive short-area quickness and can free himself from most one-on-one coverage. Needs to prove he can offer special-teams return potential to maximize his opportunity. Despite lack of height, his quickness off the snap and out of his breaks will be hard to overlook for teams looking for possession receiver from the slot. Made promise to his dying 17-year-old brother that he would make it in the NFL.

Rooting for him now

Even if Kerley doesn't come back.. Ellington, this guy,Burbridge can probably handle the slots but I wouldn't bank on it. So many different directions we can go in with FA and draft.
Steve Smith compared Ravens UDFA WR DeAndre Carter to Randall Cobb.
Carter, coming out of FCS Sacramento State, goes 5'9/185 with 4.44 speed and a 38 1/2-inch vertical. Cobb's Combine numbers were 5'10/191, 4.46 and 33 1/2-inch vertical.

Competition Competition!!!

Iron sharpens iron...
Why was this no name WR signed before Kerley? Camp body or not guy doesn't deserve a contract before Kerley

Just my opinion, but everything this new FO has done says, "no one is guaranteed a spot... even you 'starters' ". Good way to bring back a winning culture ... or at the least a culture that doesn't rest on being "just ok".

Maybe Kerley wants to test the market?

Maybe he's asking for too much.

He, like any WR with actual brains, is waiting on who the actual Niners QB will be for 2017... WRs risk likely plummet in stats coming here, and if a WR has the leverage to test the market he'll do it

a WR's shelf life to cash in is open for only so long
We have so many ex Pat's WRs. Harper, that one guy who was a PR for us and now Carter.
