That's insane given all this team endured this year.
And the #1 team is just 40 yards more a game. This offense should easily be top 5 next year barring injuries.

I would rather win the super bowl than having the number 1 offense.
I feel bad for some fans who thinks having the number 1 offense means everything.
Not everything, but it sure doesn't hurt.

to be fair his defense was STACKED as well. that 2011 rushing defense and our turnover ratio was one of the best in the league

Haha, that's crazy to think about. Pats selling out completely to stuff the run, Falcons down to their scat back and Kyle leaves it in his league MVP's hands...and of course Matty Ice s**ts the bed in the most crucial times of the game over and over again. He's the QB version of the Buffalo Bills of the 90's. He's got a long history of doing just that. He did it against us in the NFC CG too. Thank you!
And a special "thank you!" to Devonta Freeman for missing that key block with Aldrick Robinson wide open FTW nail-in-the-coffin design.

Things happen for a reason, right?

Y'all keep saying your opinion and then when others eat up your logic you get all defensive and run to the mods like your being personally attacked.
Edit: I didn't see the actual personal attacks that led from this convo. Still I think when they frustrate other posters it's just their opinion.
When others frustrate them they want action taken by the mods.
Because it's his shtick. He roots for losses and bad play so he can come talk trash the team. 4 wins later and you can't find a post. It's not a coincidence.

The defense carried this team. 9ers went to the nfc title game in 2011 with the worst red zone offense in the entire league. Outside of Kaps run in 2012 the offense was below average his entire tenure.
If the 9ers can build anything approximating that kind of defense with Jimmy running the O it's gonna be a whole lotta fun to watch.

There's no way NE trades Tom mid season. Had NE lost they likely let him go at the end of the year while tagging Jimmy. But he could still win this year and change their minds.
NE would go to Hell if media/ fans just woke up one day in Oct and Tom was shipped out.

We had a very conservative and safe style of offense. It was running game and defense, as well as Alex taking care of the ball. Did we ever rank top 20 in offense with Harbaugh? we were always top 5 almost every category on Defense

Offense was really good in 12 but that's it. 11th overall but 2nd per play. JH played to his d but outside of 12 the o was always lousy.

Yeah, if Brady loses the last Superbowl, Tom's traded, and Jimmy leads New England to 19-0 this season. Brady beating Montana's ring count was the best thing to happen to us. The bad karma we've grieved over passing Tom in the draft has finally mended. Everything is full circle. The solar eclipse decided it.
Let's say we are in that same situation next year in the Super Bowl. Would you rather have the ball in Jimmy Gs hands or Hydes?

I think we go all the way with that 2011 defense and Jimmy GQ on that team (and possibly in 2012 too).

Jim Harbaugh had neither, so what's your point?

Not just the yards. They were consistently inept in the red zone and on 3rd down, the most important metrics of an offense. When the Harbaugh offense faced a 3rd and 7 you knew the 9ers would be punting shortly. You see the same issues happening at Michigan.
