I feel bad for the younger fans who thought Harbaugh was god. Just look at those crappy offenses they grew up with. Now they finally get to see what a great offensive mind really looks like.

Harbaugh was great at winning games. No reason to pick on his offense.

I would rather win the super bowl than having the number 1 offense.

I feel bad for some fans who thinks having the number 1 offense means everything.

For an offensive minded HC who came in with lofty promises to bring the WCO back, it was rather disappointing. The best part of those teams was generally the defense.

With Shanahan's playcalling, I am being brought back to the Mike Shanahan/Steve Mariucci days where I am not just expecting the offense to go into full prevent offense mode once a lead has been obtained. This offense is going to come after teams and keep coming after them.

Hoyer-rookie QB-FQB all in one season and it's very possible, after the Rams game, we'll be a top 10 offense in year 1 of a rebuild. It usually takes year 2 to accomplish that.

A HC is responsible for the whole team. Harbaugh hired his coaching staff, including defensive coordinator Vic Fangio (Noted thatTomsula had the GM helped hired the coaching staff, but that was the exception).

It is amazing how people don't give Harbaugh credit for the defensive performance.

The more I watch the jags film, the more I realize just how much Shanahan schemed his ass off. God it feels good to have some competence on the offensive side of the ball again.

Well alot of that I'm sure was Saleh helping him.

He got with Fangio, a vet DC, since his Stanford days. It would be retarded of Harbaugh not to keep Fangio in his back pocket like a smart phone. Harbaugh knows enough about defense to know not to dip his spoon into Fangio's soup.

What type of credit does Harbaugh get on defense ...?

What I liked Harbaugh the most was the clock mansgement lol For instance, if there is 2 mins left going into halftime, he will make sure you dont get the ball back by running on 1st and 2nd downs or all of them depending on the situation. He doesnt care if theyre in the red zone. He will milk that clock to make sure you dont get to score.

so you don't give him credit for having a great coaching staff in Stanford, which he can retain the goods one with him to the Niners? It is really not that hard to give out why Harbaugh deserves credit, if you step back and think for a moment.

I did remember when Harbaugh hired Vic Fangio as a defensive coordinator, the fan base wasn't happy because Vic didn't have success in the NFL back then.

This.

I enjoyed the SB run, but my god the herky-Jerky-delay-of-game offense was annoying as hell.

My point is, It doesn't take any coach much brain power or credit to attach himself to someone of Fangio's NFL defensive knowledge.

Harbaugh is a very good coach. That's a no brainer But as a football knowledge wise he's actually a bit inexperience compared to other coaches. His offense preference or philosophy is power run game/ TE with complimentary passing game just enough to take the pressure off, when defense over commit to the running game. Time consuming offense. It's not designed to be quick strike type, so it's also dependent heavily on defense keeping the score low and manageable.

It's a pretty amazing feeling having the three most important components of an NFL organization figured out: Coach, GM, and QB (I know owner is sub par but that's not changing). There aren't really any organizations that I can think of with those three pieces (or even 2 of the 3) that don't have long term success. This, paired with the Seahawks getting ready to implode, our future looks bright.
Jimmy is all the rage right now, but after rewatching the Jags game, it was more the Kyle Shanahan show. Can't wait till the game film breakdowns. Kyle's offensive game very capable of buzzsaw the Jags D.

Could easily been 14-0 the first 2 offensive drives on the Jags best D in the NFL.

The scheming was excellent. From the very beginning they seemed intent on punching Jacksonville in the mouth and getting them off balance.

They were 1 knockdown ball at the LOS to be up 14-0

The reaction on the sideline of Kyle saids it all

I totally agree, and I'll just add that Kyle's schemes shredded Bill Bellichick's defense in the super bowl in the first half. If Kyle had our 2011 defense, I'm pretty sure that it would have been a L for Tom Brady and the Patriots. Point is that if a genius defensive coach like Bill couldn't handle Kyle's schemes, I don't think very many other coaches can either.
