The extent of his injuries makes me wonder if he was wearing his seatbelt.
A year ago a drunk driver pulled his pickup across the road in front of me and I hit the middle of his truck while traveling 35MPH. My wife and I both had serious bruises from the seatbelts and air bag deployment but nothing more serious. It was three weeks before I could lay down comfortable due chest pain went I tried to lay back. Still, we felt lucky we were not going faster. It could have been worse.
Hopefully, Shanahan is able to resume his job soon.

Shanahan sacrificed himself for the power plant's sins. And let us not grow weary, for in due season we will reap.

Holy crap that f**king sucks. Anyone reveling or taking any delight in what happened to him is a completely terrible person. The only weird thing is how did they keep something like this out of the public that happened almost 2 weeks ago.

Oh my gosh this sounds horrific, and for someone who's so critical to this team's success, he's going to have to take it easy for several months.
In January last year 2025, a deer jumped out in front of us on a road trip to go skiing and I hit in on my side going 60 mph. The side mirror flew thru the window and hit me in the side of the head. I didn't lose consciousness but got a nasty gash and a concussion. It took six weeks to feel normal again.
I hope he's feeling better sooner than that but worried for him for sure. Get well soon, coach.

For better or for worse, come the start of the regular season I think he's going to insist on coaching as normal. Whether it's the best thing for his health or not.
He's an NFL head coach. The itch is just too strong. He's not going to be able to handle letting the team play without him there.

Broken nose, hand, 3 ribs, and a bad concussion. Hopefully his head injury didn't cause longterm issues. I swear we are the unluckiest team in sports.

Chris Foerster is the interim coach. That's it, seasons over.
