Oh you expect them to cry and mope? I'm pretty sure had Burford done his job they wouldn't be so excited.

Our drive has nothing to do with it in that moment lol. They were excited because they were handed the strategic advantage, not because they expected us to not score a td

He had the team march down the field and had a TD play called which would've given us a TD lead in OT. That is what you want. Our DC picked the worst time to have his worst calls and we couldn't defend the 3 points AGAIN. Something Kyle tried to give him more time to figure out how to do.

There were a hell of a lot more problems in that SB than the OT decision.

Analytics are only as reliable as the people analyzing. Whoever thinks that's a 50/50 choice is not analyzing the situation correctly. Andy knows

Stop being obtuse or downright ignorant

Nothing changes even if KC received first

Knowing the outcome of Kcs drive does change things. They scored a td, which means a fg wouldn't have been an option for us

Not knowing KC would score a td made the fg an option. Brock lets the blind pass go to an open Jennings instead of throwing it away to preserve the fg if we knew the outcome of KCs drive

If you think it through it actually does change things

Nope nothing changes

KC needs a TD no matter what in any situation

best thing to do was rest your defense and pray

Nothing changes huh? So we still kick a fg if we knew the outcome of KCs drive before ours?

Kick a fg and try to stop a TD or try to stop a fg

you take the points

Damn, to act this dumb to make your stupid take sound credible is lmaof

in no way can you guarantee we win if KC receives first

Or if he planned for ot like Andy (didn't plan for it even though he'd already lost in ot in a sb).

Or if he had go-to plays to seal it like Andy. It hurts seeing how easy Andy schemed up that game winning td

Stop this nonsense. Shanahan dialed up a play that had 2 guys wide open for TDs. Issue was he didn't have a DC like Spags to stop a mid level offense from marching down the field and scoring a TD.

I can't get over how stupid the "Shanahan didn't prepare for SB OT" narrative is. He literally did exactly what he needed to do but other people failed him and the rest of the squad.

And enough with the "go to plays" baloney. Where were all these magic plays his first 18 years in the league?

So you would take Donovan McNabb over Brock Purdy?

Its like you are trying to punish Reid for trading up and drafting Mahomes after saying that it was completely justified for Kyle to pass on Mahomes and take Solomon Thomas because this is what the media said to do.

Not to mention those first 18 years for Reid had 5 NFCCG appearances and a super bowl appearance on his resume and your take is "where was the success" while anointing Kyle for super bowl appearances and championship game appearances with no rings to show for it.

Once again, what exactly is your argument?

I just wish Kyle would have viewed Mahomes they way he viewed Trey Lance & Beathard. We may be talking about a completely different history right now.

Donovan McNabb was a very good QB which is why he was drafted 2nd overall. I would take Brock over him but 2nd year Brock, playing vs a DC who made Tom Brady's 2007 juggernaut offense into nothing special, isn't somehow better than a veteran McNabb in regards to playing in the SB.

And funny how in the same post you bring up how you wish Kyle viewed Mahomes the way he viewed Lance and Beathard...totally ignoring the fact that Beathard was never brought in as the clear QB of the Future and was drafted low 3rd round and Lance was only drafted after failures and injuries to Jimmy G and Kyle being able to see Mahomes and guys like Allen, Lamar develop into stud QBs in the NFL.

You're just reinforcing my point. That coaches as they work in the NFL are adapting, learning. Andy Reid had 18 years of failure to lean on when he took Mahomes on an already excellent team. Kyle didn't have that luxury.

You can argue that he overreacted in taking Lance after failing to get Stafford or Rodgers and it was extra sucky because it happened in the draft with the least info in history due to the covid year.

That's what we call hindsight but I'm pretty sure that the result with Kyle missing on Lance was a lot more impressive than what would've been the result had Andy Reid not gotten Paxton Lynch "stolen" away from him. Unless you think Andy Reid would've had those magic plays Charlie keeps talking about with Lynch and no Chris Jones on defense on top of it all.

Nothing changes in the sense of football play. Your defense needs to get a stop and your offense needs to score more points than they did to win.

It doesn't matter what order you do that it. Only thing that matters is that we failed on both sides of our turns but we didn't fail because of Shanahan's playcalling or his decision to take the ball first.

You going into this crap 2+ years later is ridiculous and points to how some of you guys can't be bothered to look at the details. Andy Reid's magic plays weren't doing a damn thing when Dre Greenlaw was on the field.

But yes a 1st and goal play at the 3 yard line is when Andy's magic sauce comes out

In no way am I guaranteeing a win if KC receives first. Just the strategic advantage that KC was very happy to have handed to them

We failed while playing for a fg when the fg wouldn't have been an option had we gone second

Can't happen when coach decides to put himself at that disadvantage

We played based on what was happening in the game. Not with hindsight 2.5 years later.

Kyle called the plays that should've resulted in a TD lead kicking the ball off to a mid level offense even with Andy "Magic man" Reid and Patty "The Chosen One" Mahomes.

So no matter how much you want to keep bringing up that decision, it literally had no impact on the game outside of the fact that Chiefs scored the TD and we once again couldn't protect a lead. Same lead Sean McVay saw his defense hold vs the Bengals.

Yet people still act like Kyle is a choker who can't win it all.

Shoulda woulda coulda. The playcalls weren't good enough. He should have dialed it up like Andy. Make it simple and go win, don't just call a play with cute line pulling

And we shouldn't have been playing for a fg, but it's Kyle's fault that we didn't know that. Thanks coach
