49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

So far so good. He's one up on his dad though in getting a Franchise QB. When Mike Shanahan went to Denver, they already had John Elway and when Elway retired, he got Brian Griese and he was nowhere near as good as Jimmy is today, and probably CJ BeatHard will be better than Brian too. I was a bit disappointed that Mike never got that franchise QB. I loved how he ran his WCO in Denver. All they needed to continue that success was a Franchise QB.

Mike Shanahan's other problem was never finding an answer for the other side of the ball. A revolving door at defensive coordinators eventually sank him at the end of his Broncos tenure. It remains to be seen if Kyle has his answer in Saleh.

WTF is this blabbering idiot talking about?

And does he not know that "Hat and Shirt Week" must be earned and taken... it is not given to you, dumb*uck

Atl, SF, Jax all run the same defensive scheme.

But yeah cry me a river there. If they did their homework and watched Shanny rape Seattle last year they would of known they better have a different gameplan.

Key to beating the Jag's defensive scheme - good tight ends. We have two good ones, Celek and Kittle, and I don't think they have a very good one in Marcedes Lewis. I look forward to seeing how our offense does next year against Seadderall.

Probably, the TEs were key. But the reason we beat them, is the QB who can read the D in a flash, and then can get cornered when running Left, who suddenly zips a ball sidearm/ underhand 15 yds on a rope. He was the key, no two ways about it. The D play had a big hand in it too. And the Kyle play calls had them unbalanced most of the game. All in all, definitely a team win.
Now that the Falcons dynasty completely collapsed without Shanny, Falcons fans are thinking may be the team should have promoted Shanny and fired their head coach instead.

So glad that we got him now. The way this offense moves up and down the field with Jimmy G. brings back great memories of Joe and Steve when our team were once a dynasty.

I totally agree. Without Jimmy, this is a L.

I was just referring to how the cover 2 shell works in the 4-3 under defense. The TE position runs the kind of routes that the 4-3 under finds difficult to cover because there are less linebackers dropping back with the 4-3 under than, for example, the 3-4 (with 4 linebackers dropping in coverage). That's what I meant.

I think at week 10 the 49ers offense was ranked 26th IIRC. But for a while before week 10 I kept an eye on the rankings and the 49ers offense hung around 26th to 28th. After Jimmy GQ's win over the Bears the offense ranked 23rd IIRC.

Now watch the 9ers climb in power rankings!!!

49ers are no joke, I can't wait for Lynch to start adding more weapons and game changing defenders!!!
A Shanahan and Italian combo always works out doesn't it?

They are averaging 397 ypg in the 4 games with Jimmy G. Entering this week NE led the league at 398.5 a game this year.

This works....but Shanny only called plays for Joe for one half of a football game. It was more like Shanny and a mormon was the key pairing
Locker room speech film is out. I love how Shanahan is not afraid to tell the team's mistakes even in a victory.

Christmas Eve last year was the win against the Rams.....personally I was so disheartened as to the situation we found ourselves. I hated chip kelly's Offense but I was so fearful we where stuck because the s**tshow that was the Harbaugh leaving was still hanging over us. I've wanted Shanahan for at least 3 years in some form or fashion (first as OC under his father in '15 or last year as HC). I personally didn't think one of the hottest HC candidates would consider us due to the disfuction and I was skeptical that Jed would blow out another staff after one year. Long story short, I HATED the situation we found ourselves.

I'm just so f**king stoked at the position we currently sit
