Damn shame where this franchise is. f**k the Yorks!
It is a shame. How much longer is Kyle going to have?
McVay and Macdonald didn't put those teams together. They inherited a lot more pieces. Their far more similar to Jim Harbaugh in that respect.
Coaching wise I respect MacDonald a lot more. Yes he took over a lot of really good talent but one thing he did exceptionally well is build to his strength.
He was brought in on the back of his defensive mind and he(with a little luck involved) put together a dominant unit on defense - got Ernest Jones for peanuts after Rams and Titans both sent him away and he turned into a really great leader and player for them. Then added Emmanwori in the draft who everyone knew was the perfect Kyle Hamilton like safety for them.
As I type this F the Titans franchise. Like how many f ups can they have to make it harder for us? Trade AJ Brown to the Eagles. Send Ernest Jones to Seattle and then trade their 2nd round pick to them so they can grab Eman. Hire Saleh away. And that's after firing the current COTY just 2 years ago.
As for McVay, he's a great coach for sure but his crowning achievement is beating Kyle in the NFCCG then winning the SB. Meanwhile he was totally outcoached in that NFCCG and all that year by Kyle. We wanna talk about losing leads? 49ers don't make the playoffs that year if McVay doesn't blow a 17-0 lead at home. Totally bailed out in the NFCCG by Tartt dropping that pick. 49ers unable to convert 2nd and 1 with Elijah Mitchell and missing our best run blocker in McGlinchey.
I haven't seen anything from McVay to show me he's a better coach than Kyle. Macdonald at least took it to Kyle this season but we'll see how that matchup unfolds moving forward.
