throw a party after a Super Bowl loss.
Extend Kyle when he has no rings.
Yeah he was busy getting felonies and hiring Steve Mariucci at the end of it
If the Niners had lost that first SB to the Bengals I suspect Eddie would have thrown a party for his players to show his appreciation that they got there. He threw a lot of parties. The whole SB or bust thing became his mantra after they won that game. Prior to that win just getting there was a major accomplishment. Eddie was a great owner but he wasn't without faults. Remember he often had arguments with Walsh and threatened to fire him.
He did have his faults but he was a great owner. He made this franchise what it is.
Imagine s**tting on him just to prop up Kyle. Unbelievable.
Who's s**tting on him? Learn to read, troll.
First of all I'm not a troll. I had season tickets for over 30 years during the entire Eddie D time. I had nothng but love for him for what he did for my beloved Niners. I guess you're referring to the comment about him getting felonies and hiring Mooch. Well he did. That doesn't change my opinion of him though. He was reckless at times, generous, compassionate and decisive.
He hired Joe Thomas as GM who pulled off one of the worst trades in 49er history. Bad mistake. He quickly realized Thomas wasn't the right guy and fired him. He hired Walsh and gave him full control over football operations. Great decision. You have to wonder what would have happened if Walsh hadn't been coaching at Stanford at that time. Would he have been hired as the next coach?
As hard and demanding as Eddie was he treated his players better than any owner in the league. Lavish parties. First class travel and hotels. He set up a lifetime annuity for Jeff Fuller when an injury ended his career. It's no wonder players were beating down the door to try and play here.
