49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

I think it's 50/50 whether or not Kyle gets a ring. He had the right roster at the beginning of this season just too many injuries to our elite players. And last year it was McCaffrey who went down. He had 2 good chances but just came up a bit short. If Brock converts that 3rd and 5 at the end of regulation in the second super bowl, Kyie most likely has a ring if Moody makes the field goal. Just bad luck as if the football gods are working against Kyle.

That has been the biggest difference I have noticed between the SF Giants and SF Warriors as compared to the SF 49ers in the past 20 years. The 2 former teams came through in the clutch and finished whereas the SF 49ers just could not find a way to finish. My personal consolation prize is that I did witness the 49ers 5 other times finish even though it was awhile back. Some teams like Buffalo have never won in the Super Bowl era.

I think Kyle next year has a good chance of winning it all with players like Brock, McCaffrey, Bosa, Warner, Kittie, Lenoir, Pinero. But I do think if you can add a couple players like Jefferson and Crosby, all of a sudden you become the favorite.

I'd love to get both Jefferson and Crosby but Idk if we can afford both plus the amount of picks might be too much.

The problem with this front office is they think they are one or two players away when in reality this is a gutted roster full of aging, over priced and injury prone players. The roster is too top heavy.

We have ZERO impact players under 25 years old. We need to be building through the draft but that is something this front office has shown they can't do.

So adding Jefferson or Crosby might help us win a few games but when we get down to the top 8 or top 4 we will get embarrassed again. We aren't two players away from competing with those teams.

They told us they didn't believe to be close to being real contenders when they chose to stay put at the trade deadline.

That paired with the overall gutting of the team last offseason makes it pretty clear the FO is rebuilding. I think the defense has potential next year with 3 key players coming back and a group of young promising players that just got playoff experience.

I think the primary focus should be pass rush and young weapons on offense. Add in an OL too.

To the victor belong the spoils. Arguing who is a better SB winning coach is irrelevant. What's relevant is do you consider a guy in his second year winning a SB better than a guy not winning one in 10 years ? And IMO 1 SB win >>>>> 2 SB losses, but something tells me you would disagree.

I.e. it's all about trashing Kyle and not holding all other coaches to one standard.

If Kyle gets fired and then wins SBs elsewhere like Reid are you gonna say you were wrong? Of course not. It'll be a "he just needed a change of scenery"

Of course I'm going to say that. You think the Eagles win 2 SBs if Reid stays in Philly ? He needs a fresh start. New players. A new organization. His shtick go old in Philadelphia. The same can apply to Kyle. Maybe he goes to another team and wins 6 rings. Conversely maybe we get a new coach and win 6 rings. Point is you can't be afraid to let go of Kyle Shanahan because you "think" he will win Super Bowls elsewhere and because you "think" our next coach is Tomsula. And to reiterate, we are not debating the release of a first second or third year coach where you can tell fans to give him more time. He's had a decade and no rings to show for it. He's the longest tenured coach in the league without a ring. He's about to become the longest tenured coach in franchise history without a ring. But you guys are okay with it because he remains "competitive" and brings home the participation trophies…

Two more players making $25 mil or more will only make the team weaker because it will make their payroll even more top heavy than it already is. This team has some big name players that can still produce when healthy. What they lack is quality depth and the support for the stars.
Bring back eddie d please. The current owners and fans are content with mediocrity. f**king disgusting.

Being under 25 can mean you're a second year player or a rookie. You don't think Alfred, Malik, Mykel, Stout, and CJ qualify here? So Seattle can boast an impact player like Byron Murphy, but we can't say we have one in Puni, even though they're from the same draft, because Puni's 25? With this said, Puni is old af for a soon to be third year player. Turns 26 in a month.

What could Eddie do even if he did come back? He couldn't spend like a drunken sailor anymore. I doubt he could bring Bill Walsh back to life,

I'll tell you what he wouldn't have done.

throw a party after a Super Bowl loss.

Extend Kyle when he has no rings.

I mean that's the whole crux of their argument. One play changes the outcome of two SBs. Yet we're forced to listen to the cry fest about being happy with mediocrity….which if we're keeping s**t real hasn't been what SF has done here. They haven't been mediocre.

it isn't SB or you suck. Some folks are just too stupid to understand that.

Yeah he was busy getting felonies and hiring Steve Mariucci at the end of it

I get it. You prefer 0-3 over 5-0. I'll tell you one thing. They're not making any documentaries about Jed and Kyle in 20 years

…or we could have put them away in the 3rd quarter after the Brown interception on KC's 44 being up 10-3. Instead, here's the brilliant play calling on the next few plays (let's remember we are on KC's 44). Pass, false start, Pass, Pass, Punt —- Pass, Pass, Pass, Punt —- RUN, Pass, Pass, Punt —- and then we fumble on the punt return and they score.

That entire 3rd quarter, after we pick Mahomes off on their 44 yard line, up 10-3….we decide to RUN one time, pass 8 times….score ZERO POINT…KC scores 10 points and take 13-10 lead into the 4th.

And guys here will tell you that the playcalling was justified because:

1) ONE false start penalty
2) SPECIAL TEAMS mistake

all smoke and mirrors to avoid addressing the 8/9 pass plays called on 3 drives with the offensive player of the year….

See above post, then tell me Burford's missed block was the reason we lost…
