You guys should chat.

No need. Every other coach chose to kick and Mahomes wasn't there. He's not part of the equation

This rehash of games played a few years ago is really stale. It's pointless because it can't change what has already happened. Get over it.

Tell that to the guys who can't accept the reality of what happened. Tell them Kyle made the wrong move and to get over it

Kyle Shanahan is a finalist for the AP Coach of the Year award. He earned it. He did a hell of a coaching job considering all the injuries that happened.

Ask Brian dabol, stefanski and O'Connell how much that award means.

All guys you undoubtedly wanted Kyle fired for.

I'm not sure. Are any of them 1-41 when trailing by 7 or more in the 4th?

You're just a buffoon at this point posting messages like that you know that right?
My message was just about stating the obvious which was that Shanahan did a great job this season.
And the irony of speaking about O'Connell considering what some of your friends here said about him last year.
Remember the whole KOC is a way better HC than Shanahan?

my favorite argument is that a 2nd and 5 pass play with 3 minutes left in the superbowl that went for no gain was a brilliant play call.

Nobody said it was brilliant. Just called you out for flat out making up something that didn't happen.

You came in b***hing how Kyle didn't milk the clock by dialing up those pass plays. I explained to you that you were full of it and the pass play to Kittle kept the clock moving - which was your big complaint.

I then said your point on the 3rd and 5 needing to be a run play instead of going for the 1st down conversion was incredibly stupid on top of it.

But go ahead and laugh, trust me the rest of us are doing the same at your post.

About 3-4 years ago I asked how many years are the shanahan fans going to give Kyle because we keep going through the same motions. Well here we are in year 9 with 0 superbowls. The team is in decline. The drafts have sucked. We are finally seeing the fallout from the lance debacle. We are at least two maybe three years away from possibly becoming a championship team.

but we are hanging onto shanahan and lynch because we are worried we are going to hire another tomsula.

Shanahan fans over the years have used their favorite argument "who would you hire instead?" I think this year proves that there are a s**t ton of coaches out there that can be successful. Vrabel, McDaniel, Payton, Johnson all hired recently.

it's tiring to see what this once great franchise has become.

Yes move those goal posts.

Ask yourself this...if your big points to knock Kyle are things you have to make up and didn't actually happen then maybe there is a reason most people don't want him gone?

This season has shown Kyle is the right guy for this team. But yes...I do have concerns about our drafting and roster building but all that said they managed to build this roster up from way worse than what it is now. Why exactly can't they do it again?

Making change just for changes sake isn't smart. There has to be a reason to change. This year to anyone rational is a reason to keep Kyle, not to get rid of him.

He 100% did even if he won't admit it lol. The O'Connell worshipping on this site last year was unbearable and they're now trying to pretend it never happened.

Andy Reid is 6-12(notice how his team has way less situations of that happening?)

O'Connell is 4-6
Lafleur 4-18
Tomlin 6-29
Sean Payton 3-22

This is from a couple of years ago

The reality is for the majority of Kyle's career he had bad QB play or mediocre pass protection. When you're down 7+ in the 4th quarter you're forced to throw the ball more so the threat of the run game disappears. Teams know what's coming and go all out to defend the pass.

You guys acting like this is some major issue is just stupid. Yes it's an issue but you should want your HC to avoid being down big in the 4th quarter in the first place. And when the best in the business is just at .300 in those opportunities, maybe not something to get all up in arms about.

Let me ask a question. Why were the 49ers 12-5 this year and 6-11 last year? Was Kyle all of a sudden a better coach this year? Did he wake up and say I'm going to be better coach this year? No. He's the same coach.

the reasons why the record this year was better?

a 3rd place schedule vs a 1st place schedule.
a better backup qb.
saleh vs Sorensen
cmc healthy all year

those are the reasons. Kyle didn't just all of a sudden coach his ass off. If anything, he gets credit for bringing saleh back, but knowing he was only going to be here for a year actually hurt more.

OR provide the multiple other things that happened that resulted in those losses.

Ya'll b***h about the roster, yet don't hold a single player accountable for how they play/execute in game.

it's lazy analysis and trying to blame one person for everything….then give that same person no praise when they do win. Why would anyone take someone who thinks like that seriously?

Wait a second. Why are we s**tting on oconnel? Last I checked they had a winning record this year and lost their qb and back up qb while playing against a first place schedule. Shanahan did that the year before and went 6-11.

Anyone who has half a brain and two eyeballs can see how those magical 4th QR comebacks happen….usually it's off the backs of their crazy talented QB, not some elite level play calling on each down. Bunch of backyard football.

s**t happens, but that was a coach and team that was completely unprepared for the moment. To the point of confusion. That's absolutely inexcusable man. And this is a dude that has already been to OT in a Super Bowl

Niners and Vikings had basically the same SOS all said and done. SF played with half a roster and had their backup QB play almost half their games.

O'Connell beat one team with a winning record this year (bears WK1) and the packers backups Wk18.

You s**t on Kyle for everything…yet can't hold another HC accountable for letting Sam walk and play dogs**t JJ McCarthy? Again no one can take your debates seriously with all the emotional hypocrisy.
