You're also not the only one to watch the old SBs happen. You're not better than any fan here who may not have been around for it. I expect you to have conversations without making up BS narratives.

My point was simple - just because there is a long gap in SB wins doesn't somehow mean you can't win a SB eventually.

If you have no response to that then don't respond.

Yea I watched all our Super Bowl wins as well. I also remember the first twenty plus years of my life there were ZERO NE or PHI Super Bowl wins but those fans stayed faithful until their day came. So I say to my young Niner fans hold on because our day will comeback around again

Odds are strong we don't change a single starter on the Oline for 26'. We might draft another project in the 3-7 rounds but with this D as thin as it is I expect another heavy Defensive draft.

We also have a lot of holes on offense, even if you want to avoid OL. The D heavy draft was last year, this year you have to expect it'll be a mix of both simply because there are needs on both sides of the ball.

The Bills are going to crash and burn next season. You can tell. They literally have no plan right now.

And it's going to be glorious to watch because it'll be Exhibit A to everyone here that emotionally and rashly firing your HC for losing in the playoffs in an effort to "get over the hump" with a total mystery box candidate is an absolute asinine decision.

The "fire Kyle" crowd is going to finally have to shut the **** up forever even if we get unlucky again next season. It'll be amazing.

"staying faithful" does not mean not being critical or very critical though, thats a very important distinction. it means still supporting the team but not turning a blind eye to issues or sweeping them under the rug

I have watched philly fans eviscerate their team with criticism after we won against them in the playoffs. and most of that criticism was warranted. and their team won the SB last year !

I tend to agree. I fear the expectation may be that Colby take's a step forward from this season and fill's that LG spot. Either that or we sign Bartch on another team friendly deal.

I said elsewhere that the one spot I wouldn't mind us getting an older vet is DT to help lead our otherwise young and inexperienced IDL, but I think defense heavy is the likely outcome.

For me it's a toss up whether they go Edge or WR for the first round pick.

BTW, I'm not lamenting here because I am anti-Shanahan. I like him even if there are certain things I believe he is far too stubborn about. Overall he is a net positive coach.

I just believe that we have witnessed some of the worst luck and you can't blame a younger fan for being pessimistic.

This is how the last 8 playoff experiences have ended for the Niners. Some of us have only seen these playoff runs.

2011: Kyle Williams fiasco
2012: Three straight throws to Crabtree to lose the SB
2013: Dick Sherman posterizing us
2019: Jimmy G overthrow; referees; Mahomes
2021: Jimmy G, Tartt
2022: Purdy tears his elbow ligament and we play with no QBs
2023: Greenlaw injury, referees, Mahomes, brutal loss in overtime
2025: 41-6 spanking.

I just don't know anymore lol
When Kyle Williams happened I had a terrible feeling hit me. Worse than the immediate affect of loss. Almost like a dark cloud settling over the 49ers. We needed to get one trophy between that year and the following year.

This is partly why I have a hard time fans on here acting like Jim Harbaugh is somehow better than Shanahan. At least we can point to issues with Kyle's rosters, deficiencies on the OL or injuries that hurt us from getting over the hump.

Getting to that SB in 2012 with the Ravens being our opponent, I was already celebrating that win in my head. Just insane that not only did we not win that game but that it wasn't even close until the blackout killed the Ravens momentum.

Bills will be fine because they have Josh Allen. That's why I agree with them firing McDermott.

Difference is he's had that elite QB and their losses in the playoffs have come with some very questionable decisions and in many cases they come on the side that he specializes on.

If Kyle had Josh Allen but we kept losing in the playoffs because of bad play calling on offense I'd be all in for letting Shanahan go.

People can claim Shanahan doesn't make the right calls but the film show his calls are setup for success if executed properly.

I've seen Kyle bashed in here for being too conservative before halftime…and yet we saw McDermott dial up a play on their 30 yard line with no timeouts and 16 seconds left before halftime. Sure he didn't want Allen to fumble but there was almost no chance of a positive play given that distance and time. How would people react to Kyle doing something like that?

McDermott also had the 13 second collapse vs KC few years back. That's his side. Brilliant game by Allen and it's ruined.

But it will be interesting to see how Buffalo will do. Their owner looked absolutely insane today with what he said about the Coleman pick. I feel for that kid…

Kyle's rosters are Kyle's success and failures. Harbs had to work with whatever Baalke let him have here.

Harbs now has has a national championship to his resume as well as back to back 11 win seasons in LA since coming back and a.695 career win percentage as an nfl HC vs Kyle's at.550

By this logic Belichick can't be better than Kyle because he lost to Foles and the eagles

Firing McDermott wasnt necessarily a bad decision. Firing McDermott while keeping a shoddy GM was. If they were going to fire the coach then they should have been cleaning house top to bottom. Now it feels like they have no plan and are just flying by the seat of their pants.

Who expects the Bills to win a SB next year ? And who said that the Niners would have to win a SB the year after Kyle was fired ? I don't think any of us were questioning Kyle in 2017 or 2018. I didn't question him after the 2019 loss either. My ears perked up when he lost to LA in 2021 having a 10 point lead and going into shell mode in that 4th quarter. And I completely lost confidence in him when we lost the SB in 2023, because we had a vastly better team with all our top guys on the field….even had Travis Kelce bumping against Andy Reid on the sideline. And Kyle…just…could…not…close. He could not find a way to step on the Chiefs throats just like he could not find a way to do it in 2019….just like he could not find a way against the Rams in 2021. It's not an aberration bud. It's a habit. Kyle will continue to stumble on himself in the big moments.

I've never seen it in happen in my life and have already accepted that it won't.

7 NFCCGs and 3 SBs in 14 years and no rings? lol yeah if there's a sign that it ain't happening that's it right there.

Really? Does that go for the Eagles who had a 56 year drought? Chiefs who went 50 years?

Guess Bills, Lions and every other team who has never won a SB(or in some of those cases even got to the SB) will never be able to win one?

Sorry if the answer is wait at least 50 years before coming to a conclusion, then I'm not for it
