Same…but he isn't above criticism. The offense is his responsibility, and he came up flat. He needs to place greater emphasis on the OL, find a true WR1, and start playing younger skill players. Watkins, James, and Guerendo should not be riding the pine.
Agreed on OL, disagree on WR1, agree on letting the young players contribute
Who do you feel is capable of being the WR1 on this team currently?
I don't think a WR1 is required if you improve pass protection. And by getting better o linemen the run game would improve also. I despise how much WRs cost compared to what value they provide unless it's Chase or Jefferson level WR1. We just had a top 5 offense without a WR1

I'm a huge Shanahan supporter but last night was beyond injuries and personnel imo. It feels like we could've had Fred, Nick and Aiyuk and it wouldn't have mattered. It just felt like scheme. My one and only (I think anyway) complaint I've ever had about him is his seemingly arrogant refusal to change or adjust. To be fair though, I really don't know what is being done behind closed doors, so I could be dead wrong. But it just feels like scheme to me when we look bad.
When Brock had time, which he did many times, it was like he had no clue where to go with the ball. Every replay showed that nothing was open and our receivers were just running sandlot patterns right at the defenders. They did what did last time to us and what they do every time. So why did it seem like we had no plan to counter THEIR scheme? That's what bothered me, seeing the same old thing, call one our typical plays and hope it works. Love Shanny and will continue to defend him but concerned moving forward.

We had a top 10 pass blocking line. Can it get better? Sure. But we had a bottom 10 (being generous) WR room. Every other team in the playoffs has a go to WR that you can count on to get open anytime. We dont have that, and its not because of OL play.

he got way too angry about that timeout by Seattle's head coach. And also at Green. Sirianni did the same thing last week to Brown, and I thought it was foolish and ruined the mood on the sidelines.

Yay more money and resources thrown at WRs while we struggle to pass the ball cause the run game can't get going. Can't wait.

100% accurate. Shanahan was only missing kittle on offense. The major injuries last night was on defense. The offensive performance was abysmal. it had nothing to do with injuries and everything to do with scheme. You're not going to tell me the return of kittle would have changed that offense yesterday. The seahwaks both times came out confident and prepared. They put the fort to the throat and didn't look back. They were poised and confident. To give up a td return right off the bat is all on coaching.
I don't even know what to say. Just ugly.

Time to focus on the off season. Get back some healthy starters, maybe sign a FA or 2 and beef up the trenches and grab a playmaker.
crazy proud of this team and what they accomplished given the situation. Anyone trying to s**t on them or this staff should leave and root for someone else. Plain and simple.

The issue is we finally faced a team whose pass rush was better than our OL and even when the OL held up, no one could get open.

I think it had
something to do with injuries and an overall lack of talent, lol. This team is talent thin at the skill positions and we were one dimensional.
When it's a beatdown like that everything is an issue.

I think he was right about the timeout. I mean it was super weird. Now with Renardo, yeah he should have just quietly put him on the bench and that's it. But again, imagine coaching this game, seeing your team being crushed on offense, defense and special teams and if it wasn't enough you have to deal with some stupid plays like Elliot's penalty, Farrell not even trying, DeMarcus Robinson doing a Cam Newton or JJ dropping a great pass by Purdy like a high schooler. I would have been pissed off too.

Damn he got his ass kicked yesterday. I guess 2 weeks ago is what it is. Now we got years ahead of us getting dominated by Seattle again. Fml

And it probably triggered his memory of EMan not doing his job and staying disciplined and letting Hill catch that pass.

Stats a little skewed this season vs teams with a dominant DLine. Our oline cant hold up against an elite pass rush. Why havent we made OLine an emphasis like we do with our DLine? Clearly hasnt been enough even when we've made it to the SB. Needs to be a strength.

Lost the best TE in football, Ricky P is basically a decoy, CMC running on fumes and handed them 7PTs as soon as the game started….we were short handed all yr to begin with.
anyone saying injuries didn't play a part is a liar and has alternative motives to prove a point. Anyone that's reasonable knows we didn't have the horses this yr and made it farther than we all thought
