Though IF by some miracle we were able to beat Philly, Seattle and LA on the way to playing in the SB at Levis well that would add a good decade to my life lol. Sprinkle in beating the Pats in the SB so I can talk sh*t to my friends and family(most are Pats fans who only root for the 49ers cuz of me) that would be just amazing.

But after getting a huge smack to the face week 18, I'm refusing to get my hopes up. Team has already exceeded my expectations for this season by a long shot with all the injuries. But man...would that be amazing!

Caleb Williams is more dangerous in a playoff but as we have no pass rush we still match up better vs CHI. Thing is tough I actually think CHI is gonna beat LA because of Caleb. He's gonna shred the Rams

SEA matches up better vs CHI than anyone but LA going there is a bad matchup for them because of Caleb. Dude is a freakshow

Caleb Williams is incredibly talented. But Stafford is a god damn G. The reason I'd be more confident going against Chicago with Caleb vs Stafford is because Caleb can make insane throws after running around but he can also miss super routine throws.

Stafford will make the routine throws...and he'll make the holy crap throws on top of it.

But either way...won't matter if we don't find a way to send Seattle to Cabo.

I think we can surmise that last time Pearsall practiced and we game planned for him to be playing and it was a short week. All of a sudden at game time he can't go and thus we hit the field with a game plan centered around him being there and when he wasn't with no Trent the deck was stacked against us

This time we will know more definitely whether he can or cannot go and we got Trent back to boot

Feel like we've played against a similar defensive scheme a couple weeks in a row now, which might help.

I will say, I think Philly is more talented at every level on their D compared to seattle. They were basically coming off a bye too.

Seattle is better offense, but overall not by much. Sam doesn't scary me. As wild as it sounds our LBer group is better this time than the last time we played Seattle. That will help contain that run game.

no Kittle is huge though.

I hate saying it but that Emmanwori kid is a god damn problem. I was so hoping he would be a bust for them but soon as they drafted him I had a bad feeling about it. Can't believe other teams let him fall to Seattle. Really all 3 of those picks at the top of the 2nd round were a gut punch. Wanted all 3 of those guys for us.

Kyle's gonna have to find a way to get the young dude to overthink stuff. That week 18 game all of Seattle were tackling insanely well. We have to find a way to switch that up for this game. We gotta tackle extremely well on defense and find ways to slip/break theirs on offense. A tough ask for sure...

I'm not sure there is much room for creative vs that pass rush. We're just going to need our OL to play much better and get our run game going so if they roll out their nickel D, then we need to move the ball on the ground against them.

It's going to have to be decisive and precise and our guys will just need to step the hell up. If we have an opportunity to make a play on a poorly thrown ball - make it. Catch the ball. If we get a batted ball on D and we're there to make a pick - CATCH THE BALL. If a fumble is bouncing in the face of one of our defenders - GET THE BALL.

This is how banged up or less talented teams win football games vs more talented/healthier squads. They have to make those key plays. Hopefully with the possibility of Fred coming back looming and Kittle getting injured giving the team his all it helps our guys step it up to another level.

Winning this game would be so rewarding in many ways. I'm not going to get my hopes up but I also believe we're capable of getting it done.

Hopefully, having Trent back is going to be a game changer.

Emmanwori was a guy I liked and said I'd take him over Starks in rd 2 (when folks were saying Starks should be the pick at 11)

Imo he's was their best pick in the draft. I don't care if Zabel turns into a 5 time pro-bowler, it's OG and that s**t just isn't an impact position worth taking in the 1st.

I think folks underestimate how good Bryon Murphy is. I was pretty pissed about that pick. They got a good squad. I still think Sam is gonna turn into a pumpkin and they will be searching for a QB in a yr or so….he's gonna want a big fat raise after this upcoming season and I'm not sure Seattle is gonna fork over $250M. Toss in Witherspoon and JSN will want to be one of the highest paid players at this position in a yr.

Aren't most 'trees' offensive oriented? You can probably group John Harbaugh (no surprise) in with Tomlin here. And there's probably a strong correlation between why this is and his 19 year tenure.

We did horribly offensively against SEA last time, pretty much everyone agrees with that? Lol I dnt want a repeat of it

Oh I agree, overall not a great gamelan and we needed better qb play on top of it.

can't have any TOs and we're gonna need Brock to use his feet.

if they can beat Seattle in Seattle I don't see why they couldn't win the whole damn thing.

If we manage to beat Seattle have to imagine it's a trip to Levis South which may very well be "last team to hold the ball wins"

The odds are stacked against us, that's for sure.

I don't believe the odds are stacked as high as being 7.5 underdogs, but it will still be a challenge. We have to play our best football with what we have to be able to get a win, but I have confidence they can do it. Purdy can't be throwing easy picks though. If he has to throw a Pick, make it on 3rd or 4th down where the pick is essentially a punt.

He coached the Cardinals team that went to the SB with Warner as their QB.

I just looked it up. He was with the Steelers from 2004-2011 in some capacity.. His contract expired in 2011 and didnt get renewed so he "retired" as their offensive coordinator. A couple weeks later he accepted the same position (OC) with Indy under Chuch Pagano. Chuck took time off in 2012 and Arians was the interim head coach. In 2013 he got the Arizona job.

So i guess you can make the argument Arians is under the Pagano tree.
